View Full Version : paint for 72 grill KP1972 07-01-2003, 09:57 AM Since I can't do a "search" right now, can someone recommend a rattle can silver paint for painting my grill??? Randy70C-10 07-01-2003, 02:15 PM Everyone that I've seen painted silver (Carolina chrome :D ) just doesn't look right. You can wet sand it with 400, them 800, and polish with aluminum polish and it will look like new again. Just takes a little more work. KP1972 07-01-2003, 02:45 PM Randy - I don't mean to question your expertise....but polish on the PLASTIC???? TexSparks 07-01-2003, 07:49 PM Seems like it would be hard to get down into each one of the "egg crates". Hope you have small hands! Randy70C-10 07-01-2003, 09:14 PM Oooops  hehe, I thought you mean't the metal part. I've never heard of anyone painting the egg crate silver, but if you do be sure to spray a coat of "mid-coat adhesion promoter" first. It's basically a plastic parts primer. littlebubba 07-02-2003, 01:09 AM Have you tried Eastwoods, they seem to have just about everything. JimKshortstep4x4 07-02-2003, 08:15 AM We use Argent paint or Eastwood has "Alumiblast" in cans that comes real close to the Argent. Clean thoroughly, prime and paint.
