Wow, three Sherwood Park members that actually post! Thats pretty neat! Any of you guys have your trucks at the show and shine that was at the Alliance church during the summer? I saw some sweet 67-72s there and one REALLY sweet 73-87

grnddwn
11-26-2003, 11:38 PM

Russell

Hi Russell,

Just due other things, I didn't make it into a single S&S this year. Hopefully next year will be different.

Cheers,

Hey Al is that new motor in your Jimmy now.

alta-aj
12-01-2003, 02:40 AM
Yup, sure is. I put it in about this time last year and tweaked with it and other stuff on and off over the summer.

How's your project coming? What are you up to with it?

Russell
12-01-2003, 05:33 PM
Either of you two have a spare seatbelt bolt lying around? I snapped one trying to remove one of my seatbelts, I also need a rocker bolt, I've got one that won't stay tight, so my rocker keeps loosening up and ticking, also causing me bad gas milage and makes it stumble a bit at an idle...

hey guys im kinda new here. i live in the park too. i drive a white 88 s-blazer, usually parked at galaxy (work there). im thinking of selling it for a 67-72 truck and bagging it.

Darren

Russell

Hey Darren, I see your truck all the time, looks like a bad blazer!

I live out on 220 between Highway 16 and Baseline, about an 8 minute drive of the park, just past Ardrossan.

dc395
12-02-2003, 11:42 PM
ya its an alright truck. id liek to bag it but instead im gonna sell it and get an old truck if i can find one

Russell
12-02-2003, 11:48 PM
There is one for sale in Edmonton for 600 bucks, I can get the ad for you if you want it, needs some work but seems pretty solid

dc395
12-02-2003, 11:51 PM
really? how bad is it because im into doing body work, i worked on my truck for 8 months fixing rust and modding it. replaced pretty much the whole bottom half of the truck, and fixed rust all over the place. my dads been in the autobody business for like 35 years, he used to own broadmoor auto body, so he showed me how to do stuff. so im not too worried about body as long as its not over kill. ya if u could get the ad that would be great.

Ok let me get this thread back on track. Three hills will be a fairly central show. It is on the first weekend in June there is camping and hotels in town. If everyone that is interested will PM me their email I will get all the info out to you. I'm also goin to try and organize a meet with the BC guys at the Radium show in September

We go to Three Hills every year as well. We had a purple S blazer with a Targa, a green slammed Astro and now a rusty 71 GMC burb. My brother-in-law had his orange 72 pick-up there three years ago. Its a great show and would like to meet in 2004. Count me in. Michael

Russell

I'll be at the Three Hills show (most likely) Dunno if I'll make it to the Radium one unless it turns into a family retreat with a slight detour on my part :) I used to go to Radium all the time, I just love the hotsprings there

There's a guy at work that goes to the Three Hills show every year. He seems to think it's one of the best going. I wouldn't mind meeting up someplace like that though I don't think my truck's going to be on the road by then.

And as a 2nd choice, I say Red Deer is not a bad idea as being fairly central.

Not to de-rail the Three Hills gathering, this is just for summer planning. As I have said I have gone to Three Hills for 15 years, never missed a one. With that in mind, I have to say that the last 3 years I have gone to Street Wheelers Weekend in Lethbridge, too, and if I had to choose between the two, Lethbridge wins. If you live in Alberta, you should try to get to this show/cruise/100 ft. acceleration contest gathering. I will be at Three Hills no matter what though. Michael

Hey guys I just saw this Im from red deer , a meet would be awsome I have a couple trucks goin right now , I think three hills is an awsome show and would be an awsome place to meet , I am finishing up my 66 shorty and it will be at three hills , and im really gonna try and hit lethbridge and radium with it this year too ,

there was a quciktime swapmeet in reddeer this past weekend march 20th ,. the big one is comeing up may 1st so everyone write that down it usually a gooder. dont forget about powerama in edmonton april 16-18.

grnddwn I really want to see your blazer and person an I have been meaning to PM you I built a drop member for my 66( it on air ride or half on air ride right now) , and have a few dozen questions for ya. some hopefully we can meet up soon

Russell
03-29-2004, 02:37 PM
Sounds like I'll still be free to head on down, and I'll most definitly be at the Edmonton show in the next couple of weeks. The GMC won't be looking any better unless I get job sometime soon so I can start spending some money, lol

Canada20
03-29-2004, 02:41 PM
Good news about the May 1st one as I had to miss the mini-March one and I probably won't make the 17/18th one at www.powerama.ca

We should go grab some burgers or something if we're all at the same place/same time.

Greg

(BTW I heard the quicktime swap wasn't as good this year as previous; any truth to that?)

Slammed66
03-30-2004, 02:11 AM
Its all in how one see's it , personally I thought the quick times meet wasnt too shabby but my oppinion is probably biased because I found everything I was looking for in good shape at a decent price !! over all tho I did think it was a decent meet. the one in may is usually awsome , Ive never been to powerama and id really like to check it out this year!

Canada20
03-31-2004, 03:36 PM
Considering the only swap meet I've ever been to was last year's quicktime meet, I don't have a whole lot to judge 'em by :)

I think there are a few around the province but they're not always that easy to find out about. There's a guy here who gathers as many car shows/dates as he can that are around this part of the country (some in the US too) and compiles it all into a few pages. It's called the Calgary Cruise Calendar and it's at
www.members.shaw.ca/calgarycc/ but I don't think he's put the 2004 edition on the web yet. I have a copy that I'm willing to copy and mail around if anyone wants it.

Greg

(oops...spoke too soon; the 2004 calendar is up)

Hey grnddwn -- Have you pulled your truck out yet? I'm starting to see some nicer vehicles out and about in the park with it getting nice out :D I would love to see it sometime :D

I'm still up for a meet sometime, and I am willing to drive a couple of hours for it too, just as long as I either have some spare parts with me (dizzy, carb, etc) or have the truck running properly. I would trust it all the way to Fernie BC and back, but she has been dieseling a lot recently, and I don't want her failing me on the way to somewhere, lol

We were there. Probably the worst weather for the show in the past ten years. Windy, followed by a 5 o'clock rain-out. Lots of great cars and trucks, though. Michael
