leadfoot067
10-29-2003, 03:40 PM
nov 9th would work for me....

miket
10-29-2003, 04:29 PM
I can check with XXX and see....how is the 9th for everyone?

My truck might not be there again!!!!!

stllookn
10-29-2003, 07:53 PM
Gosh...I might even try to make it this time. I now know my truck will make it that far since I had my son drive it to work a couple of times...LOL! It will be an adventure...oldiron...you got my back?

oldiron
10-29-2003, 11:11 PM
Stllookn, Does that mean I have to bring the flatbed to pickup the pieces? LOL:p
Well lets get started with this. A meeting to get ideas works for me.

Orence1
10-30-2003, 12:23 AM
I have the 9th on my calendar. What is the back-up plan if the weather is bad? Can we meet inside there or do we need an alternate location?

DanoDMano
10-30-2003, 12:39 AM
I gots to work that weekend....:(

I'll be there in spirit though, and hope to hear good
things about the meet!!:bowtie:

LeRoy
10-30-2003, 01:18 AM
I think OLD IRON needs to convert that Flatbed into a car hauler. Might come in handy. I'll have to check the schedule when I get to work

For anyone reading this thread, you might want to make the first INFORMAL meeting at the Bremerton Swap Meet this weekend. It's at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds. Not as big as Monroe by any means, but I found more parts there last year that I actually wanted than Monroe the last three times I went. It's Saturday and Sunday.

thats too quick for me...I can't make it...but if you guys can...

I couldn't make it either. I like the nov 9th Idea.

LeRoy
11-01-2003, 07:54 AM
I work days on the 9th. I'd have to be the 15th or 16th for me

miket
11-01-2003, 01:18 PM
well,

It looks as though the 9th may be out for too many folks....how does the 15th/16th sound? Can we all agree on these so we can get something on the calendar? also....I can check with XXX if thats where you want to have it.....we can have lunch/meet inside...or if someone has a better idea....I am open to it......just want to make sure we can get as many folks together for our first meet as possible....

Orence1
11-01-2003, 09:22 PM
I'd suggest we set the first meeting for the 16th. I'm sure no matter what weekend we choose there will be conflicts. I may have one that day but I will get the information and plan on making the next meeting if I can't make it. If we can meet at the XXX inside then I think that would be great. Cultivating a relationship with Jose(did I get that right?) can only be a positive for future events.

Sounds like a given day should be choosen since not everyone can make it.........

Like the first Saturday of each month....

People can always get together as friends due any time during the week to hash over ideas......

Wish I was close enough to attend....retired with time on my hands....

miket
11-02-2003, 12:08 PM
I wish you could too....

This Sunday...

I have scheduled our meeting with Jose at XXX. We are tentatively scheduled from 11am-2pm. He does have a small area in the back (inside) for us to meet/have lunch and discuss the business parts of our new Club. If it's nice, I have no objections to being outside.

There are some items I would like to get on the table during this meeting. I encourage everyone to think about the new club and the things you would like to see in it....bring them up at the meeting.

Here are some topics I would like to discuss this Sunday;

Club management...prez/sec/treasurer...
Logo....
Meetings? how often and where?
"Club" website?
Motto? Mission/Vision?
Rules..yes/no...if so what are they...
Vendors? whats our approach?

If anyone else has anything to add please post it and we can discuss it. This is your club and it's up to all of us to decide what we want out of it.

Directions:

FRom Bellingham/Blaine going I5 south....

Travel south to the 405 South exit...it should list Bellevue/renton, Follow 405 south until you pass Bellevue and see the sign for I90 East/Issaquah...take I90 east until you see the "Front Street" Issaquah exit...take that exit...stay in the far right lane and merge onto Front Street in the far left left lane heading south...turn left at the Gilman BLVD light....after turning onto Gilman XXX will be on your left.

From Tacoma area heading North...

There are a couple of ways to get there....my suggestion would be simplest if you don't know your way around too much.....take I5 north until you hit 405...take 405 towards Bellevue....again hop off on I90 east and follow until you see the "Front Street" exit and then follow the directions above.

If anyone has any questions please PM me and let me know.

Thanks...I look forward to seeing everyone there.

I'd like to be part of this club., but it looks like I'm probably going to miss this meeting. One of the first thing you should discuss is who will take notes to make sure that those of us who can't make it don't miss anything. :)

DanoDMano
11-11-2003, 01:33 AM
Yeah with what Darcane mentioned. If someone could take minutes that would be awesome!! Sure wish I could be there!!:(

miket
11-11-2003, 02:32 AM
no worries fellas....we will take notes and post'em...sorry you guys won't be able to join us.

11-11-2003, 12:31 PM
Sorry guys, I can't make the meeting either :)

leadfoot067
11-11-2003, 07:43 PM
i can be there...ill be coming from puyallup if anybody wants to convoy:D

stllookn
11-11-2003, 08:03 PM
leadfoot, There may be two of us coming from Kent. We are both off 167 on the East hill so not sure of the direction we will take. There is a backroad across Renton East Hill and Maple Valley Road that may appeal to us. My old 283 with PG and 3.73 gears may like that better than 167 and I90. I will try to get in touch with Rob and Robert and see if they are free and interested in going. You would be welcome to caravan with us....you gotta tow rope...if you have seen my stepside you would not ask...LOL!

LeRoy
11-11-2003, 08:22 PM
I'll be there. Will probably hitch a ride with Russtburb if that's cool. My daily driver might choke at the though of 70 MPH with a 4spd, st6, 3.73 setup. lol By the way my K5 is still sitting on jacks waiting for 4wheelpartswarehouse to pull there heads out.

miket
11-11-2003, 08:25 PM
Guys...I don't have my truck either so I will be in the Caprice....

leadfoot067
11-11-2003, 11:12 PM
well..ill be driving either my blazer...or my shortbox...the shortbox has a 3.08 gear so its good on the freeway..and the blazers not bad either with 4.10s and a 36" tire...i need to get the title changed on the shortbox and get tabs....and try to avoid the taxes normally associated with that....my plan was to run 167 to I90 to the place...

chevy71super
11-11-2003, 11:24 PM
Dennis,
Please call my cell when you get close to the I5/I405 interchange. I will join the caravan. Number is 206 295-3651. Look forward to seeing everyone.

LeRoy don't worry about going 70. The flatbed tops out at 60! LOL
723/4tontank we will be there to pick you up then.
Doug I will fumble the phone # and try and call you when we get off of I-5.

LeRoy
11-12-2003, 12:05 AM
Well heck, if your going to do 60 maybe I will drive the ol 66, lol

723/4tontank
11-12-2003, 02:48 AM
My truck cruises great and 70 and the occational jump to 90 to get in front of people, so if you break down I got plenty of power to get you off the freeway. lol

stllookn
11-15-2003, 02:49 AM
Oh jeez...I hate it when it rains! The water splashes up from the road through the holes where my rockers used to be and gets my pants wet! I might have to rethink this trip based upon weather.

I'll be there but the '67 won't...Adam drove it yesterday to round up parts for the Hyundai...he come pi$$ed and soaking wet from water splashing him from the location of both missing rockers! It was quite funny and I checked...the seats were wet...LOL! I will have to wait until it either dries out or I get the rockers replaced.

oldiron
11-16-2003, 12:29 PM
Stllookn glad you are still coming.
I will be leaving in a few minutes to meet with anyone coming down from the North at the Arlington rest stop. I will be there around 9:45 am and leaving at 10 am. The next stop will be at the Everett rest stop at appox. 10:20. Then on down I-5 to I-405 then east on I-90 to issaquah.
See ya all there.

I cleaned up the PM box.
I joined the YaHoo group.
It least I think I got it set up.
I'll drive up to some of the larger events.
The regular meetings may be more frequent than my schedule allows.
I'll also have to drive up the Honda, cuz I don't currently have a truck to drive up.
It would be fun to come up and visit whenever possible.
Good notes / minutes from meetings distributed after the meetings would be great.
A BIG thank you to those with the ambition to head up this WA club thing! :D
