Do I need to apply a primer before painting my hardtop. I have heard both ways and am not sure.

try asking on the blazer board if you havent already, seems like i've seen a bunch of pics of recently painted hardtops

I just had my hardtop painted, so I will ask the painter if he applied primer and what kind. Might be a few days before I find out for sure. If I remember correct he put an epoxy primer on and then painted bc/cc just like the body.
Also went yesterday to check it out, and he had added some flattner to the paint which is chevy white so it wouldn't be to shiny, and it turned the white kind of a grey! Needless to say he is repainting, but is that weird or what could have happened?!?
