a friend of mine is going to paint my truck for free if i pay for supplies and paint. How much does a good quart of paint run? how much more would pearl paint cost compared to a regular paint?

Lots of variables: color, brand, etc. My shade of metallic blue is about $45 quart. My buddy painted his 67' GTO with House of Kolor chamelion and that stuff is outrageous in price, like $350 quart. Pick some colors then talk to your local paint supplier.

whatever you do, just don't buy cheap stuff. you will be disappointed at the lack of UV protection and other disappointments later on down the road. If its worth painting, then paint it well. never scrimp something as important as paint. first thing people see......

well said Shamrockcustoms.Ive used cheap paint in the past and it looked ok(for a while)then begain to fade.so its best to use good paint system the first time so it will last and be something youll be proud to be seen in.

Save your $$$$ up and for a complete paint job base clear, all reducers and activators, a good sealer, tape and good paper will run ya about 500-600$$$. It will give you the best result and you will be happier in the long run.

you may be able to get away with $300-400 if you're looking at a less expensive single coat (including everything).

oh yea, just to paint my motorcycle in a pearl, paint ran around $175 (a dupont system-not even the 'best'). would be much more for a truck.
