I have a 49 Chevy 1/2 ton
I saw a post earlier that said to work from inside out as far as replacing rockers and floor pan. I'm in a catch 22 situation. I would like to brace the rockers to the outriggers on my frame while cutting into floorpan and toeboard to keep the cab from twisting. But the first 10 inches from the front on the rockers are pretty rusted and nothing to weld to. So I don't know which to do first.

Also, I'm not real sure on how to replace the rockers on this truck. Its seems to run behind the kickpanel and outercowl panel. Do I have to cut all that away to get to the rockers to replace them?

Any help wouldd be great.

:) :bowtie:

About a year ago Custom Classic Trucks mag did a floor, rocker, inner and outer cowl install on a AD truck(47-55).

You might try looking thro their website for that tech article as I do believe they keep track of that.
Was a pretty good article with TONS of pics.

I would go out to the shop and see how that rocker is assembled but its a friggin bizzard outside:(

Awesome! Thanks, for the info. I'll see if I can dig something out of my pile of mags or find out if Custom Classic can send me some archived mag. Thanks again. Bad weather stinks. I've never lived that far north. I reside in Texas right now.

If anyone else has any more info that would be great. This forum rocks.
