when i shave parts, like tailgates, and the patch panel is not curved with the tailgate so there is a big space to fill. i have a habit of using kitty hair then short strand, then the skim coat (usually USC Base Coat) i would like to take one step out of that. so my question is, when its impossible to get the metal out far enough and i absolutely have to use filler, how thick can i go with the short stand? is there something better for the first coat? thanks, sean

Am I reading this right you are putting on a tiger hair filler then a short stranded filler then a regular filler? THREE different types of filler?

Why not just skip the short stranded filler and go right to regular filler after the kitty hair? What are you gaining from using the short stranded inbtween kitty hair and regular?

Id dump the short type of filler. Kitty hair then regular or poly putty...Eric

i was using three because i would get it perfect with 2 and then use the skim coat to cover everything up. thanks, i'll skip the short from now on and hopefully i can feather the kitty hair enough to finish up with 1 coat of skim. i guess i didnt ever think i could finish the kitty hair with one more coat of skim.
