Hey guys....what happened? The 30th Annual Corvette and High Performance Swap Meet is coming up in two (2) weeks, February 7,8. For all you that know this one, it is great for truck parts as well and the first big swap meet in the Seattle area this year. We should have a meeting there in the afternoon after we have had a chance to score those great parts we need. Everyone needs to drive their trucks to this one...I think mine might actually make it this time as long as it isn't raining...LOL!

I WOULD TRY AND COME TO THIS ONE AND BRING MY LONGHORN AND GET ADVICE FROM FELLOW BOARD MEMBERS...

Sounds like fun but, I have to work that weekend. Bummer.
Stllookn buy me a quick ratio power steering box for the flatbed. LOL:banghead:

Quick ratio power steering box. You got it! How much do you want to spend? I think you will need the whole kit though. I saw one at the Monroe swap meet for about $50...everything including pulleys, reservoir, pump, hoses, steering box, etc. I think that is what you are looking for right? It was a great deal. If you try to buy it all in pieces it will just drive you nuts and cost too much! Just my humble opinion after having done this a couple of times already...LOL!

Mike T was talking XXX, but I like the idea of the swap meet. We'd just need a quiet area to take care of the real business, something about incorporating.....

I'm in (with truck if it ain't raining), Scott

Puyallup fairgrounds Mike. We could meet in one of the covered areas with tables, maybe the fairgrounds folks would let us use a room.

This will work. I can make it Sunday. If we can get a room for business discussions that would be great. Also would like to square away an area for parking for the club...Does anyone have contacts to slate this?

I made a call to the Fair folks. Debbie suggested I contact the Corvette club since they have pretty much the whole grounds reserved (and paid for). So I found a number and left a message for Larry at (360) 786-8844. I left my home number with him. If he returns my call, I'll fill y'all in on what I hear. Scott

Mike, You bringing the new 502? It would be nice to see it and hear it run! I can probably do Sat or Sun. If it doesn't rain, I would really like to drive my truck.

I tried to post a long winded message on our website. Didn't work. Yahoo said it was undeliverable to our Yahoo website - go figure.

Here it is:

The organizer of the 30th annual Corvette and High Performance swapmeet, Larry Johnson (360-786-8844), contacted me regarding allowing us the use of meeting space on Sunday the 8th at the Western Washington State Fairgrounds in Puyallup.

In a nut shell - we are very welcome. We will have to pay to enter the swapmeet, just like everyone else.

The conference room above the State Patrol Office will be made available to us. For those of you that are not familiar with the office, entering the Blue Gate, turn right, go beyond the grassy
area. The first building you will come to is the State Patrol office.

They will not be able to set aside a designated parking area for us. However, we can get there early and grab an area in the Blue parking lot for ourselves.

Larry also suggested that we distribute flyers announcing our club. I will put something together and go over early Saturday to deliver them. I may need some information from you Mike, as the point of contact. By the way, Larry (who owns the Corvette & HiPo shop in Olympia) owns a 72 stepside that he is building for his daughter and a 72 Blazer. He would also be happy to help us organize the club. His first question was "Are you incorporated?".

MikeT - I need to know if I can put your phone number on the flyer. What time are we meeting?

I know this was kind of windy, but I think it will be worth it.

Scott

I'm not in the club yet but I'll be there both days. I might even bring my truck if I can get the fuel tank in and the bed on. It should make it even with the old motor in it.

Do you have to pay a fee to be able to take parts to sell?

oldiron
01-28-2004, 11:09 PM
Chevy Punk,
Oh Yah you will have to pay. Contact the Corvette club for prices. Just set your step-dad down in his wheel chair and go hunting while he is holding down the booth. He will just love it. HA!!:D

gr8scott51

Call Larry Johnson to see if they have any space left to rent. Probaly nothing inside.

You don't have to drive your truck to attend the meeting. Just be there.

If it rains, my truck stays home.

gr8scott51
02-07-2004, 08:28 PM
That's good news Dennis. I took the flyers to the swapmeet today. Wandered around the parking lot before the gates opened putting them on windshields. Then left the rest at the information booth. Got my rear brake lines on and the rear brakes done, but I won't have an emergency brake tomorrow. And it won't be washed either!! LOL

I forgot my camera so we will not have pictures of the second official meeting. I have pics dating back to the first meeting of the NW truck guys in Seattle at the 36th Annual Early Bird Swap Meet in 2002. I will put them into a book some day.

Gr8Scott...I'll trade you my uncut stepside fender for your notched one! I don't know where you will put your spare but that will be your problem...LOL! We found a couple of more guys for the next meeting...I just gotta get one of my trucks on the road!

gr8scott51

You've got to go to our yahoo site more often!!

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/CGTCW/

We're making plans for next month's meeting in Bellevue.

There is a swapmeet again this weekend in Puyallup at the fairgrounds. I'll probably go on Saturday.

Guys,

PLEASE READ THIS....

I set up and single handedly administer the yahoo groups page for the purpose of conducting CGTCW business. If you guys feel this should be done here then I will close the Yahoo Groups site. It has to be one or the other. I hate to sound this way but it's up to you to check the board or setup your account to receive email updates to stay informed on CGTCW business. I do not want to maintain information in two places....it isn't necessary.

If anyone has any issues with this....please do not take up the bandwidth here.....post it on the Yahoo site.
