A friend of mine, who's a detailer, told me he could take some "acid" and get all my water spots off. Now, my paint job is BRAND NEW (3 months old) and it's gotten water spots on it. My friend said, what more than likely happened, was I left it somewhere where sprinklers came on, and got my car wet, and I never noticed it, and they dried on there. He said, since I have a fiberglass car (this is on the vette) that it'll be easier, because I have a lot more clearcoat than most other cars. I DO have a lot of clear coat..in fact, I think I have 4 coats of clear!...So, what exactly is this "acid"? I haven't seen my friend in a LOOONG time, and I really wanna get my car cleaned up for an upcoming show...

LSD will only enhance the color of the spots.......but then you won't care....

Muraic acid will probably take off water spots............... and paint, and eat through the fiberglass, and the concrete under the car. maybe thats what he has been sniffing?

3M polishing compound or Meguires or better yet ask your painter how this happened and get his opinion.
