1988 chevy k1500 4x4 truck , has fuel injected 350 and was changed over from automatic to manual trans, has the nv 4500 trans which is a five speed overdrive with creeper gear that came out of a 1 ton truck. truck has a newer crate motor in it. i had heads redone in 2010 not because they where bad but i put headers on and had a couple exhaust bolts break so i just had the heads gone through when i took them off. in the summer of 2010 i installed the following parts....heads rebuilt,new ram clutch,complete exhaust from headers to tail pipes,new radiator and water pump. new calipers,rotors and pads where installed in fall 2011.
the body...my plan was to paint this truck this summer but im starting other projects. the bed was put on this fall and has ZERO rust around wheel wells . just has light rust on top of bed rails from things being loaded in truck. drivers door is rust free except for a light spot where the fender made contact with it and removed a little paint from the previous truck it was on. passenger side door is 100% rust free . fenders are aftermarket and where on the truck when i got it and dont have any rust. inner fenders are in good shape driver side inner fender needs in stalled havnt had time to do. cab is in good shape just needs rocker panels.
truck has 33in tires with very good tread. truck is fun to drive and has plenty of power to tow or haul almost anything.
