I bought this truck a couple of years ago and have done tons of work to it. I am moving across the country very soon and have to sell it. (It has to go Soon!) I don't want to, but It’s gotta go. I am in the middle of restoring it, and had to stop dead in my tracks. This is a brief description:
1972 K10 Chevy Truck. 4WD, long bed. It has a 305 from a 1983 Monte Carlo in it. Motor was rebuilt about 12,000 miles ago. I have no idea how many miles are on the truck itself. Odometer reads 39,000 ish, though I don't know how true it is, probably 139,000. Has a 4 speed manual transmission, and a 4.56 rear end. It is geared very low and would make a pretty cool lift project. It is a daily driver if you need it to be. Very dependable mechanically.
Everything under the hood is good. Motor is strong. New belts, hoses, carb, battery, radiator, plugs and wires, and much more. The interior is pretty much immaculate. I put in seats out of an 89 Suburban. They are electric. Floor was replaced sometime before I bought it. New carpet, gages, gas tank, head liner, and tons more.
Frame is in good shape minus the front and rear cab mount cross members. They need replaced due to rust. Can pick them up for about $300 total (new).
The body is the fun part. I have done tons of body work, but it still need some. Front fenders on both sides are good. Hood is very good. The bed in its entirety is nearly perfect. It has no rust whatsoever and is straight as an arrow. I just put on a brand new tailgate about a month ago. I am in the middle of replacing the doors. I just got the new driver door hung, but it needs some alignment. I replaced all rubbers, seals, window slides on the door. I have the brand new passenger door in a box. Just need to switch it out. There is some rocker panel rust on the passenger side and cab corner that needs attention. All in all that will be about the extent of the body rust that hasn't been fixed. The body work that I have done is not perfect, and it still needs to be block sanded, but this thing is so close to being awesome its not funny.
I also have complete seals, rubbers, weather stripping, and door channel felts for the passenger door. Brand new. Plus a rear sliding window that can be put it.
I just spent about $1,200 on the two doors and tail gate alone, not even including all of the miscellaneous seals, rubbers, etc. for them. I have so much money in this thing its ridiculous, and it kills me to have to sell it. It would make an awesome project to finish up, or just to drive every day if you wanted to. But its gotta go. I am asking $4,000, for everything I have, which I think I listed it all above. This is most definitely negotiable since I have very little time to unload it, but please be reasonable. I will not sell it for 2k, so don't waste your time. I have more than that in the interior alone. Please call me and come check it out! I can email more pictures if you ask..
