Pictured is a 1971 Chevy C10 Short Bed.

I bought this truck back in 2009 as a project. I always wanted to restore a classic american car. I would rather not sell it but this truck has been sitting in a storage lot since 2012. A little bit of math will tell you it's not very economical to pay storage fees for almost 5 years. So, sadly I have to sell this bad boy.

This truck hasn't ran since 2012 and I will tell you why. I had the engine rebuilt by a mechanic in town and he did a great job. Installed a new distributor, new pistons, rods Comp cam and lifter kit 268H. etc. I was driving one day and ran this truck out of gas. I added fuel to the tank and the engine still wouldn't start so then I called myself trying to clean the Carburetor and ended up losing a few pieces in the process. (I know rookie mistake) Anyway, after I lost those pieces I had this truck towed to a storage lot and that's where it's been ever since.

I moved a few times since then. I spent 3 years overseas. So it really got to the point to where I was paying insurance and storage fees on a vehicle I couldn't drive or even spend the time to work on it. So here it is for sale on a Chevy truck forum.

The Truck:
This is a 1971 C10 short bed 2WD with a 3 speed auto transmission on the floor. The original paint was green and the original motor was a straight six with a manual transmission before the motor was swapped for a 350.

In order to get this truck running and street worthy, at the minimum you will need a new carburetor, and I'd recommend a set of tires since the vehicle has been sitting for almost 5 years. There is some rust in the normal places (rockers, cab corners, and some spots in the cabs floor board). The bed is pretty solid. Maybe two or three quarter sized holes in the bed. I used to carry sofas and move furniture in the back all the time without any worry. There is a slow leak in the transmission and the crossmember is physically broken. I priced a cross member and they run about $150.

All in all, a rare find and this can be a very nice ride for someone who has the time and space for it. The truck is located in a storage lot near San Antonio, Texas. I don't live in San Antonio anymore so I won't make special trip but I do travel there about once per month. I have the title and the keys. I'd prefer to make this deal with someone who lives in Texas to keep things simple. I am not interested in any trades just cash. Asking price is $3,000 or best reasonable offer. The buyer should plan to have the vehicle towed or bring a truck capable of pulling the C-10 to it's final destination. The truck weighs about 3,600lbs. My email is linked to my phone
