Thanks. Had to bail on a 55.1 pickup that I was building, in favor to cart around my new set of twins. We found this one pretty much as you see it. Monte front clip, 454/turbo400, PS,PB,AC,PW. Plan to convert back to sliding windows, get rid of that 300zx hood scoop and touch up a bit. Plans to change the interior as well. Rides awesome.

How much did you shorten your control arms? I'm using the IFS from a C10 that a I narrowed & bolted on my stock frame. Every now & then it rubs the fenders &I I was considering whether or not to shorten the arms.

I first posted this about a year ago on this thread here:

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...335636&page=84

Since then, it's been shortened to a 1/2 ton & had an engine/trans swap & other stuff. Got on the road this week, went to my first meet last night. Got a trophy & lots of likes...

- 350 crate, mildly ported, compression bump, comp roller cam & roller lifters, Mallory Dual point, blk hugger headers, tri-power by Ron Kellogg.

- Tremec TKO600 5 spd with Hydraulic (master/slave) clutch

- 2" drop ...IFS w/coil overs & sway bar. Rear (3:73 Nova Posi) is 2 leaves, coil overs & panhard bar. 4-wheel discs.

- PS is T-bird R&P w/modified GM pump (Borgeson)

A pleasure to drive...! Build thread at signature.

..That's my builders work & reminds me... I've been remiss in mentioning key people who made this possible (besides forum help, of course!)

- Mike Dicola of Valley Vintage Cars - The "main guy". Mike knows American, British and German as well as any expert out there. Well known for his work on Allards, Arnholt-Bristols, interesting exotics and unusual hot rods - to name just a few - I can't keep track of the scope of his work! A fun guy to work with who can solve any mechanical mystery.
- Dave of Dusty's Garage in Baldwin, WI http://www.dustysgarage.com/ One of the best all around knowledgeable builders I've ever met
- Gayle Bridges of Hot Springs, Arkansas http://www.gaylebridgesco.com/ Suspension expert and pioneer in Mustange II IFS
- Ron Kellogg of http://www.chevytripower.com/index.shtml Ron is the man for Rochester tripower - bar none.
- Mike Forte of Fortes Parts. www.fortesparts.com My Tremec & hydraulic clutch guy.
- Greggs Autobody. http://gregsautobodyshop.com/ My paint/body shop for years & years....luckily, I just needed the paint. (he does all my insurance work, too)

Many others, too...

I like green trucks and TKO 600
You will enjoy the ride, but I might add after 40 or 50,000 miles you will wonder why you have a five speed !!
Your truck is now good for another fifty years, enjoy !!!!

Okay Hampshire, LOVE the truck. Everything about it but I've gotta ask about the insulated drinking bottle - are you using it for a radiator overflow or what?

Yup - $7.00 for the spun aluminum product at Walmart vs $60.00 for a very similar radiator overflow (with a different) top...

Works for me, NO criticism whatsoever.

Love the color and the rim contrast with the ribbed beauty rings. I plan to buy a set of steelies with the rings as alternates to my old Torq Thrusts. Love the three two's - that's SO era-correct.

My dad had an AD in the same color though with primer spots and later replaced it with another AD in deep green with lots of chrome. I'd have one too except he replaced that one with a '59 Fleetside long bed I "helped" him swap a 283 into and later a 348... which is why I have a TF but I could happily have an AD. Congrats!

After 5 years and sitting in the corner for 4 years It's about done and I'd love to show you some pics.
I have a really old build thread in here somewhere.
It's all built on a 98 C5 Vette. Canyon bench seat, Vintage Air, PW, 700 watt Kicker 7 channel amp, leather, etc.

Here's what I cam up with.

GREAT looking truck.

It's entirely on a C5 chassis or you adapted C5 IFS & IRS to the stock frame?

Curious because I couldn't access your link.

Here is a project I bought last year from Arkansas, it is all original (minus the finish I put over the paint). Finally started doing some work to it and will hopefully be running and driving in the next week or so.

Recent pics of my 58 Apache. 406 small block, vortec heads, comp cam, edelbrock rpm intake, holley 650 avenger carb, msd 6al, 700r4, 57 chevy car rear end housing with 3.36 gear, 78 camaro clip, vintage air, 70 van tilt column. I have a stock radiator with shroud and a 7 blade clutch fan and it runs cool here in the 100 degree days in Texas.

Oohhh, very very nice.

Do you mind telling me WHICH Comp Cam grind you went with? I just have a little 283 with 350TH tranny but an Edelbrock dual plane manifold, Pertronix ignition, headers etc. and it doesn't provide enough vacuum to run a vacuum booster for power brakes but I see your does, presumably.

Frank, your truck looks great but I've gotta admit it's driving me crazy that you didn't fix the damaged right rear bed roll. Any particular reason?
