Hope you get that driveshaft worked out... since a shop did the lower, can you have them address it

My new thoughts are tending to the steering knuckle

Shop would need to keep it for a few days, and it would be stored outside. No top, and iffy weather nixing that for the time being. Hoping it turns out to be a simple part defect that is an easy(and less expensive) fix.

:dum::dum::dum::no:SNAFU.... kinked the braided SS hose

Luckily hydrotech supplies just enough extra hose and ferrules for a second attempt, I will be more careful this time

Thanks for the info. I would have thought that, that application would have originally came with an integral reservoir, not a remote reservoir.

NAPA's part #38-5141, I bought mine w/o tank, you can get either way. No pulley and no mount, but was an exact match to mine. My pulley had a key

If you get yours w/o tank, make sure you keep your mounting bolts for the tank, as it doesn't come with them, but does include the pressure port fitting

Yes are correct, the correct app. Would have had an integral reservoir. Mine has been moded

Most people don't realize how tedious all the plumbing and wiring work is. Keep it up.

Thanks AJ for following along, you're rite about tedious. Set back with the kink kinda deflated my balloon.

Upstate NY right now, grandkids and an old wooden boat are taking up my time at the moment. My son has me working on the wiring harness, like I don't have enough of my own...

Didn't post up any picks of my fish this year:lol:

Before I left, had a few moments to work on my low pressure return hose

Changed up a little from hydrotech, bango runs a little tighter than the 90 degree bend, also swivel. part # from pure choice is 11810

Also, tank should be here in a week from Petersen

Nice work Jaro! too bad about kinking the stainless braided line. Those aren't cheap either. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of install on the Hyrotech boost setup

Thanks, It's not so much cost, but waiting a week or so getting the parts back in to finish the job. Luckily, they sent enough hose for a screw up. With Easter dinner for family, and a funeral, I should be able to get back to work on it this week. Gotta call Petersen today to get an exact shipping date on the tank, so I can make a mount on the prop. Valve

Thanks for watching....

Installed the last of the high pressure hoses, swivel makes it much easier as you don't have to worry about the orientation of the fitting when assembled. I highly recommend using them on any hose application. Also, I use grease on the threads of the fitting when I swage it up

Tank came in from Petersen, have to build a plate to allow mounting using prop. Valve bolts

Also, picked up my electric exhaust cut outs for the Camaro

Mocked up my tank, 2 1/4" 6061 x1/2" will be in today from mc master Carr.

Now I can work on my return hoses and supply to pump

Ordered aluminum 4 pm, on my doorstep 10am, nice pulls up tight against a square flat and the two bosses for the bolts. Just need to buy 1/4" longer bolts

Dropped the radiator off at the welders shop, had to enlarge the outlet to 1 3/4", since that was the inlet size of my electric water pump. He also put a bead on the tube with his roller. Now, I can start working on the cooling system again

One more line to hook up on the hydro boost -10 return line, parts s/b here Monday

Re: PO has me PO'd

Finished up the last of the return hoses -10, after you install the crimping nut/collar in soft jaws in your vise, make sure your wrench doesn't extend below the nut you are tightening, it will gall the collar if you are not careful. But, you can touch up with a magic marker

If I didn't mention before, lubricate the threads, I would hate to gall the threads halfway up the crimp

This Russell pro classic II hose is much easier to use then braided stainless, b/c you can rotate fittings to get alignment after crimping is done

Ok, off to the next mod. Probably mounting computers in glovebox

Re: PO has me PO'd

Had some time to source out some radiator hoses today, shop worker allowed me to check out his inventory. First pick was exactly right for my purpose, like was made for a 72 jimmy w/ an aluminum rad w/ a 1 3/4" outlet. Cut off about 5 inches from the 90 degree side and added a mandrel bent 45degree aluminum tubing, have to take the tubing back to my welder to have a bead put on it

Jim. Good write up on your power steering plumbing for me. I too am going to run that Hydratech unit and a remote fluid reservoir.

thank you, Jeff. Thing I found out was neither of the 2 factory braces line up. So, I don't know if vibration will be a problem. If you come up with a mod. lmk

Which m/c are you going to use? Remote tank is supposed to be no further away then 13" so keep that in mind
Also, tell Jim you want a banjo fitting instead of the supplied fitting that comes with the kit
