That thing is amazing! You don't see many that are THAT nice from that particular vintage. What size are those tires? They are like a perfect fit for that stance!

Thanks, they are 315/75R16s.

Well, they look damn good on that truck! It, overall, is just a tough looking rig.

I know the crew cab 1ton square bodies last year was 91. Was the last year for the regular cab 1ton 1987?

Not quite sure. I have never measured. Although I have a low door height on my garage I will say that when I pull in I have to open my door and manually lift the garage door as I pull in. Otherwise it hits the cab lights. I will have to measure it. I am sure it would fit in a normal garage but they guy who built mine before we bought the place didn't do a very good job on it.

thought id post a pic of my 82 chevy car hauler ,its a diesel ,6.5 w/turbo 400,ps,pb,air,when i got it alot of stuff needed redone ,winch had some faults, junk ramps, and tie down loops, had leaky rear axle {dana 70 } thinking i will install a later corp. 14 bolt ? clip front bed sides and redo the interior color {now blue w/plain seat}probably have some old school roll and pleat and buy a new dash -all brown saddle ? always wanted a car hauler /seems like most id seen were worn out or rusty ,i do have a nice car trailer BUT there are times the big winch and hd truck makes a project vehicle easier to haul! i had thought about doing a ls-vortec swap BUT for now probably leave everything as is !the diesel seems to get about 16 miles a gallon, not a hot rod {no turbo} starts good,i do need to put more lighting on truck ,corners and bed probably do the" led" stuff.i might have a gasser anglia done this year ,it would haul it with ease ! hers some pics

The square body 2 dr regular cab pickup was still available in 1988 only with the dually option and 4 wheel drive. I have one. It was built in May 1988 at Janesville plant.
Pics from the 1988 model year R/V brochure and the GM availability book.

Is this a pic of your current truck? Wasn't sure since this is two toned and the other pics are the steel gray. I know where there is an 86 GMC with the same two tone just reversed.Attachment 1216778

Here's my pride and joy. Only had her since Christmas time 2013. Solid, cancer free, just a couple small things like window regulators, dry rotted rubber hoses, and a gummed up quadrajet.

Here's my sweetheart.

84 cab and chassis.
Former Fire Department truck.
52000 miles, not a speck of rust.
8 1/2 ft Meyers commercial plow.
Omaha Standard flat bed.
91 Blazer grill and lights.

7mpg kinda sucks, but I only put about a thousand miles a year on it.

This is a 14,500 gvw, it makes my other 84 1 ton look like a half ton!

Rust free squares are pretty hard to come by in Michigan, I snatched it up fast at $5k.

Re: Let's see some 73-87 1 Ton Dually Pictures!

Thanks for the comments guys, I'm glad you like it.

I'll get more pics later, right now it's a white-out snow.

I was going to shorten the frame to put a regular bed on it, but think I'll just narrow the flatbed to the width of a stock bed.
Because it is a cab/chassis, it has the narrow rear end.
Right now, the bed is too wide, when I plow or go to the firewood woods, it's a pain.

The previous owner did all the mods/changes.
He put those big stupid mirrors on it and drilled the doors.
Then the doors got bent hitting the mirrors on stuff.

It has a Blazer gas tank with a Mickey Mouse filler set up.
It takes 20 freakin minutes to fill, I'm gonna fix that.

The engine compartment is nice and clean.
The custom bow tie valve covers have a nice, new paint job.
It has an Edelbrock manifold with an unknown, new looking carb on the 454.

The Blazer steering column he put in is ok, but the ignition key is hard to operate. I'm afraid of breaking the key off.

I am going to put a CM SS flatbed on mine hopefully sometime this year. I am getting it just wide enough to cover the rear wheels. I like the beds narrow like you are wanting. Mine is a C&C too. Some are trying to talk me into an aluminum bed but not sure about that yet. One they are more money and two, I don't know how much it would affect the ride. I think the steel bed would help soften the ride a bit. Good ride and one ton doesn't belong in the same sentence but every bit helps.
