Drove up to MN (203 miles) yesterday to help Jayson work on Dads79GMC. Great day, was able to assist with fine-tuning the 350 - runs outstanding! We also installed the trim on the bed. We spent a lot of time getting the cab and box aligned along with the trim. Of course, I got schooled/mentored along the way and gained valuable information as I move forward on the 78 Chevy C10. Great day!!

Thanks Mike

Spent the night getting some odds and ends wrapped up. I got the tail pipes in place, and installed the hangers on the exhaust, I got the emergency brake cables installed, and fixed up and installed the rear light harness, and got the tail lights installed.

I spent the day continuing to work on the grille that I got from Jeff (1774btcrew) some years ago. This was my first grille rehab; I'd say it's a good two-footer! Lol! The one that is in the picture above, on the truck, is cracked above the handle and the chrome a bit scratched up. I used duplicolor silver metallic frost, medium gray and then used duplicator clear. This is a continuation of the post at #390. Thanks Mike

Had a couple productive nights working on the truck.:metal: I swapped out the mcgaughys spindles for some western chassis units, as they give plenty of room to run the rally wheels with no interference. I also installed some different springs to get the stance where we wanted it, and we are real happy with where it sits now. Ran the tach harness, and got that hooked up, ran the speedo cable, cleaned up the gauge cluster, touched up the paint on the needles, polished the lens, and installed led lights, got window regulators installed, and have the vent windows tore down, blasted, and the paint is drying on those. Also got the windshield wiper system cleaned up, lubed, and installed. ;)

It has the system in it that allows you to delay driving it if it's gonna rain!;)

Got the vent windows rebuilt, and installed the door glass, vent windows, and all the weather seals, door locks, and interior door handles. Got the engine bay cleaned up, routed spark plug wires, ect.... and vacuumed down, and charged up the ac. It blows cold!:metal: I have a hand full of small parts in primer ready for paint now, and I will be working on getting the tailgate ready this evening.

While I'm at it tonight, thought I'd update this site with some pictures Jayson sent me yesterday and this morning. He's doing one hell of an awesome job (understatement)!!

He was able to get the fuel, ashtray and glove box doors painted. Jayson was also able to install the cab trim as well.

During his next two nights off he said he's gonna be able to spray in the color-matched bed liner; that's if the epoxy I ordered him gets there?????? We should be able to call it a wrap in a couple weeks. Then I get to take over and install the interior.

Thanks Mike

Tailgate turned out nice! I have tried to talk Mike into letting me drive this old girl for a couple months, to make sure all the bugs are worked out, but for some reason he's anxious to get it back home!

I prepared the bed for the bedliner, shot some epoxy down, and sprayed the liner. It turned out great! All I have left are a few small odds and ends, and a final polish and inspection. I will be done with my portion of the project tomorrow night!:metal:

Before I shot the epoxy in the bed, I chipped, and cleaned out all of the old seam sealer, and put down some modern seam sealer that won't shrink, and crack.

Thanks! I use raptor liner. I have used it on 4 trucks now, and like how it works.

I have had great results with Raptor as well. Easy to spray and very durable.

Can't wait to try it myself. I used Al's last time, kind of a pain. I've also heard good things about USC Defender Pro.
