Painted the repair area, three stage painting is new to me. First coat black with a brush, red oxide with roller, and sprayed the blue on. There is a coat of factory blue color on first, the I added 30% more silver in the top coat. Magic will happen when it dries and it blends back in with the right amount of removal.

Re: 67 long box
is the idea to buff through the blue coats to leave the red and black showing through?

Re: 67 long box
Round 2, took all the paint off. too much red with the roller, it was like stone guard, so tried red sprayed but real dry and thick then resprayed the blue. Water sand it tomorrow and see what happens.

Re: 67 long box
I am sure it will look great as everything else does on your truck Metaldoc. Really enjoying tagging along.

Do some water sanding on it and I think I'll like the out come. I faded the blue darker at the bottom with lots of silver and a touch of white. Got a coat on the tailgate where I did the cantilever section. Just got a shipment of parts in, springs finally, new rubber bumpers for the truck, hood, gate, doors, ashtray, glove, and window door seals.

Re: 67 long box
Taking the weekend off, going north to a couple of swap/car show. One in Stirling and the other in Linsay Ontario. Hope to meet more builders from this site. Last weekend I met Cleanfreak at a swap meet in Ancaster Ont. , great meeting you as well. Hoping to find a couple more little things. My father in law is driving his 1961 ford unibody pick up / marquis up there and open the trailer in Trenton. Should be a good weekend.

Re: 67 long box
Love the color matching! Almost **** a brick when I saw the paint roller, but should've figured it'd turn out awesome, seeing as how the rest of the truck has

Re: 67 long box
looking good.

Re: 67 long box
Almost happy with the drivers side, maybe a bit of airbrushing to touch up between reds but over all, Yup. Picked up some stuff this weekend, shifter boot and nob, p/s brackets and pump, wheels that don't fit, don't buy wheels without a tape measure, and some other little stuff. Back at it tomorrow.

2 ball shifter nob and Hurst boot, the blue doesn't match but looks different. I might repaint the ball in the truck blue. Father in laws truck and his cousins 35 ford coupe. We put 700 + km on it and it ran great.

Put a new reverse light switch in from a 650 Honda brake light pedal switch. It works, the rod can slide from neutral to first and in reverse it pulls the plunger out to make contact. MacGyver's got competition.
