Here's one aired it with some big rollers. Ride height would be similar to where your truck sits in the avatar pic. I will see if I can't dig up some more tomorrow.

There is also a GM muscle car pan that guys are using as well. Let me dig up some part numbers and post it up tomorrow.

Nate

Gotcha. What happens if I keep the 454, or swap an 8.1 Vortec Dirty Larry style - do those require a different (or mods to the stock) pan as well?

We haven't built a coil-over version for the 55-59 yet. However, due to the modularity of our components it will be near identical to the pics below. The only real difference in the kit is the design of the tie-in sections that meet up with the factory frame rails.

I have decided to call my truck DV8ED. Just because I have changed the details of my build so many times. :) I started with a running 69 Chevy, then bought a frame and a 68 GMC cab. Both of those reside in the woods now and I have decided to go with my new find... 1967 small window with 60,000 original miles. I now see why the waiting time was 10 weeks. Sheesh you're popular Nate! I should only have about 6 weeks left. Can't wait to get to the shop to pick up my parts and see what the scientists at Porterbuilt are building.

You're going to make the pilgrimage to truck mecca to pick up your parts? That should be very cool, enjoy!

Yes, I drive a truck over the road so it's no problem getting a load going through AZ. I can't wait!

Update: Porterbilt shipped my parts instead of letting me know they were ready for pick up. They didn't charge me shipping and I understand how busy they are. It's no big deal other than missing out on the tour of the shop. Oh, and the parts were shipped to my ex-girlfriends house. It's a GREAT thing we split on good terms! Here's the lesson- be careful what bridges you burn, because one day they may get shipped a few thousand dollars worth of parts. :)

Re: Porterbuilt Dropmember

I have a question when airing out. Seems when I let the front down I can get the cross memeber on the ground. But when I lower the rear it pivots on the frame and raises the crossmember up about 2 inches. Have the cab off right now.Getting ready to paint the frame. My question is is it best to let the front down and leave the rear with a little air in it to sit level?

Sounds like you're running an extreme dropmember?? With the front and rear completely aired out the complete mid-section of the fame should be on the ground, which should lay the truck out level. Unless you have larger than a 31" tire I believe.

Re: Porterbuilt Dropmember

yes Im running the extreme. Right now I have stock tires that are 27.5 in tall.

Here's ours laid out.

I have a Question also. I'm going to be using the Extreme PB Dropmembers, Front and Rear. Will I have to run a 2 piece drive shaft or can I run the one piece I have?
Thanks in advance for your help.

2-piece would be the easiest.
This allows the shaft to clear the bottom of the cab.

A 1-piece driveshaft would require raising the hoop in the trailing arm crossmember and "tunneling" the floor of the cab.

I think with the full weight of the truck on the frame it will be fine.

I had considered doing the tunnel... but I dont know if I wanna cut the masterpiece of a crossmember that PB makes... ugh.:smoke:

Travis @azproperformance had a extreme dropmember unaccounted for on his order, just secured one. My cousin is picking up my 72 right now while I'm offshore. Nothing like coming home to a new truck and badass parts.
