I dont know if your talking about mine or the ones before, haha, but the specs on my truck:

350 out of a caprice, 700r4 to replace worn out 350 tranny, 4 inch lift, 33s on west coast chopper 20 inch wheels. Still have a good size list of things to to do it before its my DD. I need to change out stock 3.08 to 4.10 or 4.56, not sure which ones yet. Just ordered a new carpet kit, definately needs a new exhaust system, put A/C pump and lines back in for the hot summers here in california, and find a tach to put in place of the fuel guage. And of course an alarm system so I dont do all of this work for someone else to steal and enjoy. Its nice to see these 4x4 square bodies, I rarely see any where Im at.

Yes i was referring to your truck. What kind of shape was it in when you first got it? Sounds like you done quite a bit to it. I don't see too many around where i live, but they are still cheap to buy and fix.:gmc2:

Re: 73-87 4x4s

It was in pretty good shape when I got it. I bought it from my old college roomate, and him and his dad were restoring it in the late 1990s when his dad suddenly passed away. They had swapped the caprice engine in, changed to a 350 tranny from the stock 700r4 that was toasted, done all of the paint and body work, and added all the chrome and new emblems. It had a broken flexplate and been parked until we fixed that and got it running for a little while, until one day he hopped in after changing the oil, didnt let it warm up, and decided to go hot rod it down his street. Came back with a bad knock, and I knew he spun a bearing, so he parked it in 2004 in his garage, and there it stayed until I bought it and shipped it to california. The paint is in excellent shape considering it was done around 1994-1995, being that its been garaged until now. I have done a lot to it mechanically, putting the 700 back in and fixing the engine. It makes it much easier having my dads race shop to tear it all apart. You can see a few of his cars in the back ground of the first picture.

That silver looks GREAT!!! I have actually been thinking of going all silver with my crew cab(currently blue/silver two tone) when I get that far. I was thinking of the corvette Blade silver
LIke this one
http://www.digitalcorvettes.com/foru...d.php?t=108166
then paint my dually wheel that competition gray color as shown in the pictures as well, I think that would look pretty sweet. Anyways, that silver looks great!

My junk. Pretty much stock. 1982 Chevy K10, 6.2 diesel, 82 red block, tweaked IP, turbo in the future, around 30k on the engine, 700r4, 227k on the truck. Warn hubs, 31" A/Ts. Been in the family since new off the dealer lot in 82, resto in the future.
Also pictured is dads 83 C10, 1 million documented miles, now needing a rebuild! lowered (on flat tires at the moment) 6.2, tweaked IP, 700r4, ugly camper top to hold some parts right now. Resto in progress.
1998 GMC Suburban 2500 4x4, Choo Choo Customs package on the outside, 6.5 turbo, turbomaster, 4l80E

must have been a farm truck, it was most certainly abused, I drug it out of the junk yard long enough to get what was left of it. front end, rear end, drive shafts and 350 engine. stuck a battery in it and it spun right over, I was surprised.

The PO of my truck built the lift himself. I know it sounds bad, but he did a really good job for the most part. The only thing I don't like is the 3.5" lift blocks up front. I'm planning on removing the blocks and running 33's when I go back to work and get some money. Over all, the way it sits, it has 6" of lift, and 35's. For the next few years I'm going to lower it, as it's a DD. When I get a new DD in the next year or two, I'm going to rebuild the 84 and lift it 8" on 37-38's.

In the second pic you can see the lift blocks. I'm not happy with them, and I'm always the first to say don't do it, but the rest of the truck was in such great shape I couldn't pass it up, over something I can change easily. I just didn't intend to lose work as fast as I did, so things go put on hold.

wow your truck looks great man im also going to do a 6 inch rough country lift a add a leaf system.I also happen to be adding blocks in the front to lift the front if you go look at my profile pic of my truck its kind of low in the front..I just baught the truck months ago.Im also going to put black xd series rims on 35s i think my truck will look one of a kind with gun metal never seen one like mine yet yours looks badass i wouldnt take blocks off on yours

Re: 73-87 4x4s

Don't put blocks in the front, I hate them, they are dangerous, my truck has them because of the PO, and as I stated they are coming out in the next week or so. Your front end probably sags because your suspension is old, once you put the new 6" lift in you'll have plenty of room for 35's and your truck well level out.

oh wow really thanks for telling me that is great to know.Im actually a new driver lol just got my license so im kind of concerned about driving with a 6 inch im ok at balancing the truck i might need a traction bar or whatever that is underneath.Does it wobble when you drive or turn constantly ? and thanks for telling me about the blocks yea the truck is low it was even lower and when i used to drive and hit bumps the truck used to hit the tire and scrap...But the old vet who had it took care of it tho the tire are also 31s.
