Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates
Hey Captain, I plan on PM'ing you soon to order one of your power steering box brackets but I have a question. I have the cab off of the frame and am in the process of cleaning it up and painting it. Will I need to put the cab and steering column back on the truck to install the bracket properly or do the directions already locate it where it needs to be without having to line it up with the steering column? I would wait until later to do it but I would rather weld this in place now before painting. Thanks!!

Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates
You do not have to have the cab on the frame to install the power steering box and adapter plate. The installation instructions and the template make it easy to get the steering box located just where it needs to be. You probably will want to have the cab in place when you shorten the steering column with either the original flange or the tube and flange that I also sell.

Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates
do you have to drill the frame?
|
Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates
Yes the frame has to be drilled for the power steering box. There is no way around it.

Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates
Hey capt., I have a chance of getting a fairly cheap 59-70 impala brake booster/ master cylinder. My question is will you're brake booster adapter work with that setup on a 66 c1000?

Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates
I'm not sure on that wide of a year spread, but the '70-'74 Impala/Caprice booster does fit the booster brackets that I make and sell.
