Re: My Build Begins!

if i would have spend more time,it would have eventually
pulled itself thru it.it was digging slowly.
but still a blast.
im building a set of lighter weight bolt-together rims for my
bigger 67's.
once theyre done, were going back, the left side of that pit is deeper!

Re: My Build Begins!

i wonder if using a wider rim on the same tire would give it more stability in turn and sideways on slopes the tiretread to rim combo would be more triangular and the sides cant shift side to side as mush when yore going to use the bolt together rims you might be able to use the widest side of 2 sets , prolly be hard to get the tire to pop when inflating though

long time......well i can see you have been out enjoying that hard work. that pit looked Major McNasty, and of all things a little ol' heep pulled you out
i would of liked to see who followed you after that......some nice little rutts you left behind.
my lazy butt shacked up for the winter and got next to nothing done. but the weather has warmed up so i gotta get back in the swing of things. catch ya around....

keep the vids coming:metal:

winter is coming, making a few changes this winter:
little more lift in rear to level truck and make room for taller tires.
swap to an auto trans and custom built(by me) transfer case.

Re: My Build Begins!

woops , now THERES youre problem
heared a trick a long time ago where racers draw a white paintline across the length of the axle , if the line gets twisted more than one rotation its time to replace the axle ...... you do need to pull them to see it tough

YES,a few of the monster truck guys do the same thing,a rear would be no big deal to do,tire can stay on,10 bolts and its out.The front however, would be a pain,1000 pound tire off,100lb hub,spindle,10lbs of grease, just more than i really want to go thru.
