I have one of the aftermarket dash pads in Cannonball. I think its a Dashes Direct one, and it also came from Brothers. Its not as bad as everybody makes it out to be, and after trimming, working it and getting some heat into it, it will look about as good as what I expected these trucks to look like on the showroom floor (which is not perfect hahaha). We also used SEM vinyl die/paint on this...if you even look at it the wrong way the paint scratches off :)

HAHA right on that's about what I was figuring too. Thanks man your trucks looking awesome!

The big problem with these reproduction ones is they are very hard plastic and don't conform to the doors well. Both panels have already cracked on me and this truck doesn't exactly see a lot of daily usage.

I forgot to ask you where you got the trim for the door panel inserts? looks brand new.

mikentosh, I'm checkin in. Your PM box is full. I'm in town for the week and it would be great to meet up and see the truck(s) if you have time. PM me if you get this and we'll go from there. Thanks, LT7A

Hey guys, it’s been a while. Nothing has really been happening with Cannonball. It’s been sitting in storage at a buddy’s house since December. He had somebody come out and work on the engine tune a couple of months ago so it now has much better idle and part throttle cruise.

I picked up a really nice ‘77 short-fleet that I’ve been spending all my free time on for the last little while. I’m definitely the type of guy that’s more into building them, so Cannonball is probably going to be changing owners very soon.

Oh yeah I should add that I’ve got another Instagram account that I use for my other car and truck projects, including the new ‘77. It’s @mikeyplayswithcars

I think it came in around 3400lbs. The new chassis weighs probably twice as much as the factory one, but the aluminum motor and fiberglass front end counter that weight; and the nice thing is that it shifted the weight distribution backwards so its roughly 52/48 front to back now.

If you don't mind me asking what is the height of your frame under the cab? I trying to see if my truck will be to low.
