I'm not sure of the safety aspect, but there's no way you should need 1.5 inch spacers to gain adequate clearance to use the late model factory caps. Of course the thickness needed will be somewhat variable depending on the thickness of the wheel mounting flange (not sure that's the correct term).

Perhaps davepl can provide further info on what he used with his H2 wheels.

Thanks for the reply. 1.5 inch thick spacers are the thinnest I could find...maybe something to do with structural integrity as the spacers have their own lugs.

I am taking a different approach to the problem now...I am currently in the process of switching out the DANA 60 open diff rear for a 14 bolt Full floater off an 87 1 ton. The hub seems to be a good bit less protrusive and may allow for hub caps and will definitely allow for screw-on center caps....now I'm stuck with 1.5 inch spacers ....

I'm pretty sure you have to find center caps from a dually truck to be deep enough to have clearance for H2 wheel....

This site has some measurements...

Started loosely assembling my 8ft step bed in anticipation of getting the wack fitting beat fleetside off.

I can raise the floor with the stepper and make it fit on the dump frame easier than a fleet....plus I like the stepper look better on a 4x4.

Picked up another sport comp water temp guage since my old one went south and a small tach.
The kid has this same tach in his truck and its nice, not big and bulky.

I plan on getting the new pto cables hooked up this week I have one on allready but I gotta build brackets for the pto and dump valve.

I've been looking too build some duel's off my manifolds but wow is it gonna be tight with the pto in the way, just might be easier too put the y pipe back on.

Oh and cleaned up a oe front bumper and started putting it on. I'm thinking for now oe bumper and grill guard till I can find a winch.

Also grabbed this square body c member and skid plate this week from the jy gonna try too make it work.

I need to find some lift blocks and u bolts for the rear to level this thing out.

The 205's look good there tim.

Could a swore I was on the wdydtyttt thread...whoops

I've thought about getting a set of those. I wasn't sure about whether the offset would require spacers. Good thing about Dodge rims is that Dodge still uses Dana axles, so they should fit over the center bore hole.

Nice, how did it work with the rear axle stubs? Have you used spacers?

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

Yep. One & a half inch spacers. If they have their own set of studs, I call them adapters, & these do. I just get nervous about using adapters. I want to change out to 9/16" studs, just for piece of mind.

Please tell me about the conversion kit needed... I have a 1970 C20 Camper Special with 8-lug wheels. I am considering getting the same Sliverado wheels you show in your photo.

The conversion lug nuts he's referring to are dual thread and allow use of the newer caps on a truck with English measure studs. The size usually needed is 1/2" for the 8 lug trucks with drum brakes before 1971. However, if your truck's front brakes have been converted from the original front drums to discs, you'll probably need 9/16" lug nuts for the front. Of course, all 4 wheels may have been converted from 1/2". All that just boils down to the fact you'll need confirm the size you'll need.

Also, if your axle is a Dana you may need to purchase spacers for the rear wheels. I think 1/2" usually will do it. Then the studs would likely need to be replaced with a longer version.

Here are some eBay listings showing the options:
All 32, 1/2"- http://www.ebay.com/itm/32-LUG-NUTS-...270283?vxp=mtr

All 32, 9/16"- http://www.ebay.com/itm/32-LUG-NUTS-...item3ae5d4da01

He also sells lots of 16 and occasionally has a listing for a mixed lot of 16 of each size.

Haha hope I didn't bother ya reusing it but yeah it's such a good look. One thing I've noticed with these old trucks you gotta be careful what you run on em or it just won't look right. But when I saw them on your truck and it looked good I knew which ones to get. If you have any other pics I'd like to see some more!

17×7 steels off an '03-'12 Dodge Ram. Not sure how I like them. Might order some beauty rings for a cheap fix until I can afford something shiny.

Are those adapters to allow 8 on 170mm wheels to be used in 8 on 6.5" bolt circle?

The powder coat guy said he would just scuff them and powdercoat, so I just scuffed them and painted. I figure all this white coat would be is a coating on top of powder coat, so why not paint? I still have the steel powder coated.

Still trying too hard in the styling department. Give those guys a chill pill and ask them to design a clean simple wheel with smooth rims. Something that doesn't look like it's made out of a bunch of pieces and riveted all together. So funny that Outlaws and Outlaw IIs (copied after Centerlines) were ever so popular till people started disliking the fake rivets. Now it's hard to find wheels that don't have fake rivets and the better companies that made the wheels tat got people away from Outlaw IIs are out of business (Centerline, Weld...). And those are the companies that took us to billet and drop forged quality wheels.

Mine are the same bolt pattern as the truck (8x6.5). I'm only using them to use the stock GMC center caps. Otherwise, the wheels fit with no problems.

As for those Vision wheels, I saw one style that had the right design, but I'm not into chrome or black wheels.

I’ve got some nice Outlaw IIs in 16.5” with beautiful 33x12.5x16.5 BFGs tires to sell if anyone's interested.

Has anyone run the OEM Alcoa dually wheels that come on the new Dodges? I'm picking up a set for cheap off my local classifieds next week. I'd like to run them on my 1978 K35. Any idea what I'll need to use for lug nuts, and where I can buy them?

I've attached a pic for reference.
