Re: old blue
I hope you get your slots. They were born to be 8-lug. Others look alright, but they look best in 8-lug or on the rear of a front engine rail. Now to see one of these 8-luggers with slots pushing a rear engine rail with slots...that us too meakin' fruch!! As cool as that shot of the C/20 and race Jeep. Awesome pics

Re: old blue
I have been looking and looking for a pic of them together.
Mom has been digging thru old photo albums for me. And I've found a p/n for 17x8 slot mag with a blank as in not drilled bolt pattern and the correct hub size. Just need to pony up the $1000+ for wheels and the machine work for them. Plus tires. |
Re: old blue
If any one else is looking a way too do 8 lug slot mags in 17x8
Here's a way- American Racing VNA69780000 - American Racing VNA69 Ansen Sprint Polished Wheels. https://m.summitracing.com/parts/are-vna69780000 |

Old trucks are fun they said.
Right rear brake sounded terrible, and was really bad. And it's east coast heritage is really showing. Right rear cab corner had a rag in it, pulled it thru the inside. Goodness what a mess |

Wow, what an awesome story! What’s the details/specs on the Jeep? Looks like it was preserved extremely well! . |
Re: old blue
Very Cool story.

Just got the DMV renewal today.
Still such a neat feeling driving this old truck. Even better teaching my daughter to drive in it. |
Re: old blue
Great to see it on the road and being shared with the next generation, enjoy!!
|
Re: old blue
The story just got better. Back on the road and your daughter driving it. I don't do all that newfound "generation" stuff people started using to identify body styles. I say the years same as always, such as 67-72s. But that's a 3rd generation C/20 for sure!

^ Awesome updates, thanks for sharing! . |
Re: old blue
Yeah buddy! Love the vintage race scene shots. The truck doesn't just have it's own history, it's part of Baja 500 history. And if I could go back to the kid I was back then just learning about that race I would be able to say, "I know that dude"

Re: old blue
Awesome pics! That old truck was a working beast.

Re: old blue
Hoarder is a largely misused word. I prefer collector. Or how about curator or purveyor? Coould you please pass the French's?

I posted this in vintage pics.
But really needs to be here as well. February '72 pre stretch West coast jr mirrors and all and curiously the red bow tie was missing then like now. I was 5 months old at this point. Thanks for the slides mom |
Re: old blue
Very neat picture there. I need to get to Walmart to scan some pictures. I have a stack ready. Do they still do that a Walmart?

That's from a slide actually. Mom has stacks of slides so I broke down and bought one. The last photos I scanned where on a PC printer. Had really good luck with it. |
