On another post you were asking about leg room in the back, maybe you can extend the cab a little like this one.

Re: Crewcab "the rolling resume build"

I am adding 3 inches into the rear doors. Once I set the cab on the frame you guys will see why. I found a set of SRW hubs for the Dana 60 front, but they are Dodge externals, so I am having second thoughts about that set... We'll see.

Took a day to mess around with the turd tugger so that my brother could drive it until the body was done.

I guess I could actually remember to take pictures of what I have been doing... I got the door skins off as well as some of the pieces cut for the dash. No more goofing off now that the owner is watching, huh!

ThreeQtr, where did you find that truck? It's very impressive. I'd like to know more about it.

Jeremy it looks like you've got a battle plan, looking awesome. I'm along for the ride! Keep it up

Re: Crewcab "the rolling resume build"

OK, this has nothing to do with this build thread, but I am pretty sure that this is the same truck in the picture above. Anyone else have this mid 90's magazine article?

Jeremy, great progress! I will be watching this as inspiration to go get my burb hull and get started. My plan is like yours, add 3" in the rear door. But I also want to add the rear section like the red dually. We'll see how my sheet metal fab kills allow for that. Keep up the great work bro!

Re: Crewcab "the rolling resume build"

some progress pictures...

No welding yet, still just fitting

This is messing me all up (the front corner is not square!)
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-N...0/DSCN6594.JPG

My brother dropped off his front doors, which the whole cab will be built around. That is why there are no braces in the body yet. these trucks had terrible gapping, I plan to fix that on this one.
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-B...0/DSCN6628.JPG

Couple cuts...
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-6...0/DSCN6629.JPG

Random... this is where I am measuring to square up the inside of my pillars
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-6...0/DSCN6631.JPG

Cut, fit cut, fit... I have a solution for the window frame now...
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-7...0/DSCN6632.JPG

Just seeing how it looks!
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-u...0/DSCN6634.JPG

So my plan is to move the front edge of the window frame back one inch, and add an inch to the B pillar above the belt line... and this (along with a few other mods) should give me enough room to one piece the rear windows.

I like the idea of the stretched rear door.. If you are doing it , make it comfy..

I LOVE IT!! When you get a chance can you post a profile shot so i can see how it looks with the stretched rear door? That seems like alot of progress in just a week. kids must be being little angels. different story for thier cousin!

I like your B pillar idea. It'll basically how the 2nd gen fords are set up. Good idea!

Yep! And here is where I stopped for the night!

When I get a chance to take some more pictures, I will explain why I did the right and left doors skins different. I stripped the door skin off the red piece for the left, and just trimmed the white (green) skin. For the Left rear door I am using the rear of the 3rd door piece as a front, so I still have to fabricate the lip for the skin and hinges. If I would have just used the red skin like the Right rear I would have been 2 inches too short. Look at the difference in the fronts of the rear doors. Once I have the inner doors done, I will pie-cut the skin to get the contours to match.

You talking 92-97, Ryan? Are they just second gen to Diesel? This is all I am hoping to have to add. (Photoshop)

Wow, I thought making one rear door was hard enough. I don't even need to create glass.

Looks like the rear seat is gonna have plenty of leg room..

Jeremy, I guess it would be 3rd gen in fords. When was the first year for a crew in the new body style after 79? 85-97? That's the style I was referring to. You're making great progress. I like the stretched rear door. It's giving me something to look forward to. Haha
