I am adding 3 inches into the rear doors. Once I set the cab on the frame you guys will see why. I found a set of SRW hubs for the Dana 60 front, but they are Dodge externals, so I am having second thoughts about that set... We'll see.
Took a day to mess around with the turd tugger so that my brother could drive it until the body was done. |

man we gotta make some progress. i keep checkin the thread for more stuff. hopefully the '77 will come through to further finance the build.

OK, this has nothing to do with this build thread, but I am pretty sure that this is the same truck in the picture above. Anyone else have this mid 90's magazine article?

Jeremy, great progress! I will be watching this as inspiration to go get my burb hull and get started. My plan is like yours, add 3" in the rear door. But I also want to add the rear section like the red dually. We'll see how my sheet metal fab kills allow for that. :lol: Keep up the great work bro!

I LOVE IT!! When you get a chance can you post a profile shot so i can see how it looks with the stretched rear door? That seems like alot of progress in just a week. kids must be being little angels. different story for thier cousin!

I stripped the door skin off the red piece for the left, and just trimmed the white (green) skin. For the Left rear door I am using the rear of the 3rd door piece as a front, so I still have to fabricate the lip for the skin and hinges. If I would have just used the red skin like the Right rear I would have been 2 inches too short. Look at the difference in the fronts of the rear doors. Once I have the inner doors done, I will pie-cut the skin to get the contours to match. Quote:

Jeremy, I guess it would be 3rd gen in fords. :lol: When was the first year for a crew in the new body style after 79? 85-97? That's the style I was referring to. You're making great progress. I like the stretched rear door. It's giving me something to look forward to. Haha
