No yet I'm still debating if I should raise it or just do a cover over the notch.

So I've made a little bit of progress during this last few months .

We replaced my old worn gears and replaced the carrier as well with a Eaton posi also while we were at it we replaced the axles too couldn't have done it with out the help of my good friend Joe.

Also purchased a set of tubs and got em fitted to match the truck and not have gaps all around .

On a trip to Disneyland for my daughters birthday I took some time to visit the truck shop in orange CA and found a new place to buy all these replacement parts I picked up a tach and a bunch of small parts.

Also upgraded my airbag system controller to the switch speed fromantic accuair hoping I can upgrade to an E level soon...

I been really busy at work so Im not putting as much work as I need to on the truck but hoping I can get it closer to paint in the next couple of months..

Nice work on the truck! Can't wait to see it done. Did you decide on a color and finish? I had the matte but decided to go with the original color (507)base clear. My interior is flat. The painter told me it was the in thing. I really love the look!

Thanks bud. At first I wanted a murder out truck gunmetal gray and black trim but that went away in few months not long after I had my interior painted gunsmoke metallic matte so now I want to do a more original color to bring life to the truck im thinking a saddle but in matte with all black trim in gloss I'm thinking it would look nice and I haven't yet seen one with that color combo so just hoping it matches with the interior .. we will see once I get there..:metal:

After a year of looking at those not so shiny transit wheels i decided to send em out to get a face lift nothing like some nice shiny newly powdercoated wheels with the hubcaps installed..
Attachment 1590653
while I had the truck in jack stands waiting for the wheels I noticed the pitman arm was shut so purchased a new one and replaced it and was able to tell the difference in the first minute of driving down the road ..:metal:
Attachment 1590654
Down the road.... to my good friends Mr. Joe Pass Garage :lol:we been talking about tackling this motor for few months now it was installed not long ago but started having some leaks and the motor ran ok not great, at first I thought it was just a carburetor since its the same one the original motor had and when I tried cleaning it a lot of debri came out but after the leaks and the dirt from not runing inner fenders got to the motor I just thought it needed to be pulled out, resealed and maybe a good face lift and since I also got the custom inners thought it would be a good idea to install them while the motor was out but thats a whole different monster:mm:
Attachment 1590655
So Joe (in picture) and my self (in next picture) started to tackle this motor last friday morning it wasn't long before we had this monster 350 out :metal:

Update from last week.

So we got the motor out and I decided to add a cam while the motor was out so we had to dissasemble the top end and also get it ready to get cleaned out and re painted.
Attachment 1594028
After a few hours of wire brushes and laquer thinner it got ready to paint and since it was one of the few nice days out we went ahead and shot some epoxy primer and paint on it it was my first time actually using an actual paint gun but good ol' Joe was nice enough to teach me and let me go at it ...of course he had to supervised and give it the thumbs up.:D:thumbs:
Attachment 1594029
And this was the end result of a hard day of work on the motor.
Attachment 1594030
But while I was scrubbing and spraying the motor Joe took care of cleaning and clearing the intake manifold:metal: this is a nice touch I seen him do on his trucks so I wanted my intake to look the same instead of painting it the color of the motor.
Attachment 1594031
And the fun just begins  Starting to assemble everything back into the motor ..

So this is as far as we got on the motor waiting for some part to arrive and parts to be painted :ito:this is looking good:metal:
Attachment 1594034
so the next monster on the table were this massive inner tubs that I purchased cause I was told they were "bolt on" now I fully understand that nothing that's custom will ever be bolt on but this tubs definitely took alot of work to get em to fit.. Joe started this project with out me while I was at work and when he sent me few pictures I thought he had em in and done:lol: but we still had to put few more hours to get em to fit better as best as we could:cool:..not only were they too long they dont seem to follow the angle of the front radiator support but Joe spent some time re designing the mounting to the firewall. Since they were too long he cut the rear part of the tubs that had a flange to "bolt on" to the firewall and he made and welded a flange onto the firewall to have tubs sitting on the flange and be able to access the bolts whit out making it a total pain to fight them if they are ever to be taken out ...
Attachment 1594035
So after we got em to fit as good as they will the issue became the wheels they looked too far out sitting at ride height but when we lowered the truck all the way the wheels start to camber into the tub and they clear the tubs by maybe 1/4 of an inch...
so since I've been looking into a new set of control arms due to ground clearance and one of my LCA being bent from hitting the ground:confused: It kinda put the pressure on me to look a little harder I wanted to go with the CPP arms but after reading some reviews and learning that the bags Im runing dont clear the arms I started looking into the porterbuilt controls arms:ito: Now this are some expensive arms but I like the look of the wheel centered in the well and also had the option of making them 1" narrow so I went ahead and order a set from Dave and hoping this will solve the issues I have with the ground clearance and the inner tub clearance.
Attachment 1594036
So after we got the tubs fitted and most of the mounting bolts locations drilled and set we took them out to start cleaning up the firewall in the areas we are going to be welding on (by we I mean Joe)
Attachment 1594037
See what I meant :lol::lol:
