This evening I removed the engine and transmission. I slipped the Tahoe transfer case from the Tahoe onto the TH350 and it fit like a glove. Next on the list is to drop the fuel tank and when it warms up I will pull it outside and pressure wash the frame in order to prep it for paint.

I got around to dropping the fuel tank but I had to remove the receiver hitch and then the bumper first. No pictures of the Jimmy but here are a few of my "Rescue Vehicle." The second pic is what he had to do to fix his window motor. The third is a fix for a loose mirror, which didn't work. The fourth is the wire that feeds the electric fuel pump that he added after removing and discarding the RH tank. The last is how to install a trailer plug when you don't have access to the right size drill bit.

I question the window motor repair story because of what the other side of the door looks like. :metal: Second pic is the home made gooseneck hitch and the last picture is a nice view of Flat Head lake.

Sorry for not posting updates but the vehicle is running great. Here is the engine compartment.

I put the wrong fuel pump in the tank and didn't want to drop the tank so I cut a hole above the tank, installed the correct pump, located and modified another tailgate cover to patch the floor, and now if the pump should go out its a quick fix.

In the last couple of months I have managed to find yet another project vehicle or two. :metal:

That engine swap looks good, I was considering installing a late model radiator in Goldy, but the stock stuff fit my fan set up better. For me there is never enough money for 1 project but always seem to keep adding them. Keep the updates coming!

Why did you go with the t350 instead of the 4l60?

Sorry for not giving too many details but I did install the 4L60E in it. It seems to shift okay but it doesn't stay in O/D very long. As soon as you hit a hill or get some wind fighting you then it comes out of O/D. I'm sure a gear change and some tuning would help but I'm happy with it for now. I'm working on a few other projects right now.

Here is a pic of my cab swap project. One day I will take the time to repair the rust in the black cab and get it back on the road but that's for another day and another time.:lol:

Happy and sad to report that I sold the Jimmy. It went to a good home and the owner is already planning to have it painted and it will only be down the road from the original owner. :metal::metal::metal:

Time to work on all my other projects. :smoke:
