Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Bluex - I'm not to the point of doing any shows yet, but you're welcome to come check it out sometime. Just shoot me a message and we'll work something out. A few of us in the Upstate have been trying to put together a get-together - I'll add your name to my list of contacts when we work something out. Thanks for the help offer, too. I kind of killed my budget trying to get it ready for the C10 Cruise In last weekend, so I don't have anything planned for it till fall at this point. But if you need a hand with something, let me know. - Matt

Will do and for sure let me know about any get together. I have to get tags and insurance back on mine but I hope to get that done here soon so I can drive it.

Not a lot of progress since my last post. I took the truck up to the C10 Cruise In in Mooresville, NC which was a blast. It was cool to take a truck that I had completely torn apart months earlier on a 2 hour each way road trip. She did great with one exception. I had a tire come apart on the highway coming back. It didn't loose air, but the tread came clear off. I was able to limp it to a used tire place where they sold me a leaky replacement. We made it a few miles down the road before a second tire came apart. At this point I decided that I needed to buy some new tires. It took stops at 5 places before we found someone who could replace two of the tires, so I got two new Pepboys Futuras for the ride home. It took us less than 2 hours to get there and about 5 hours to get home.

Last week I spent some time painting the rally wheels and I bought two new tires to replace the last old one and the leaky one. Now I have 4, new, matching tires and some much better looking wheels.

I found a set of center cap stickers cheap on Ebay to finish them off. They're not perfect, but I think they came out OK.

Man you should have told me about that cruise in, I probably would have went to. Stinks about the tires, hope it didn't damage anything else? The wheels look good, I have a set of rallies I need to redo as well....

After driving the truck a little for few months this summer, I decided that I wanted to go a little lower. I liked how it looked when it was aired out, but the ride height was too close to stock.

That in mind, I called up Travis at Pro Performance and ordered a set of McGaughy's 2.5" drop spindles.

While I had everything apart I went ahead and replaced the 1/4" fittings and lines with 3/8" lines so that my plumbing is ready when I switch from schrader valves to a AccuAir valve block.

I haven't done anything to the rear just yet other than remove the stock bump stops. With them out, the frame sits on the axle housing. I wanted to see it with the spindles installed before I made a decision about what to do out back. I might just remove the upper bag cup so that it's ride height is lower. It won't help the aired out stance, but it will make it more level at ride height. I have just less than 2" before the pumpkin hits the bed floor, so I could do a small notch without having to cut the floor. Decisions, decisions, decisions...

Here are some mid tear apart pictures, a side by side of the stock and drop spindles and a few pics of it back together and at ride height.

I love it! Stoked I found this I'm in the middle of doing the same exact thing. Very glad you took pics along the way and after every mod. You just got me motivated. I'm on 2" spindles with a cpp c notch in the rear. That thing is slammed! I love the stance

Ride height is somewhere in between. The aired up pics are with the bags fully inflated. It's a rough ride with them that full. That's more of a speed bump height.

I think I'll take the upper bag cups out which will lower the back another 2" or so at ride height. And eventually I'm going to notch the frame. Should help things out back.

Yeah - I think I'm going to go if the weather holds out. I'll post something in the SC/NC area.

Thanks and glad I could help. When I was trying to decide what I wanted to do with my suspension I couldn't find any pics of trucks with Porterbuilt's stage one kits installed. So I knew that I wanted to document as much as possible for others who had the same questions that I did.

- Matt!

this is really making me want to bag mine... awesome

Re: Crocodile Rocks Build Thread

Yeah Matt I had the same problem. Most of the ones I found bagged were either on a dropmember, z'd or aftermarket/moded lca's so I'm glad I was able to see your set up with cups plates and spindles. Keep posting great pics. If your considering the notch the cpp notch was pretty simple to do and you'll get that much lower in the rear

Here are some current ride height pictures - Porterbuilt stage one front & rear, 2.5" drop spindles, stock arms, no notch, 70psi front, 30psi rear.

And since I can add 5 pics in one post, I added my favorite shot with it aired out. Enjoy!

Nice thanks Matt. Whats your tire height? Just put bags on my truck and it's low aired out but ride height I'd imagine will be high. I may consider control arms

Re: Crocodile Rocks Build Thread

My tires are 275/60R15. I didn't measure, but according to a chart I found they're 28" tall.
