This is a fame shot of the right front transition from the 3x6 front to the 2x6 center section! I opted not to go 3x6 all the way to save weight.

I wanted mimic the factory frame on the C-6 so off the shelf coil overs could be used.Attachment 1349892

We're now doing one last complete final assembly before we tear it down for paint!

Nice! Looks packaged very well! Where do the A/C lines run into the cab?

Drifters 01-17-2015 09:44 AM

Re: 68c10/c6

They'll run into the passenger side of the firewall I'm just waiting for the A/C unit & bulkhead to arrive! I'm starting the inner wheel tubs now.

Thanks AD! I'll post pics as I go. I'm trying to really use all the Vette parts as I can! With the exception of a few custom parts I want to be able to get parts from GM I mean they spent millions on R&D why reinvent the wheel!

Seem great minds think alike, I installed a Jag center console in a 67 pickup, here's during mock-up...Jim

Nice job Jim! It's not easy finding a newer console to flow with the older dashes.

You are so right, had to do a lot of modifications to make it look like it was made this way. Sorry to take up your thread but here's a couple shots of the finished product...Jim

Just found this build. The work looks great and I like how you are using all the Vette stuff!

Re: 68c10/c6

Wow beautiful work Jim! I like how the console flows. Is the truck done? Thank you Karl my objective with my build is to use every factory part I can! I have the vin# to the donor Vette so if you need a part your local dealer have it! I'm hoping to be able to do more of these to offer for sale!

That truck looks really solid. Was it?

Do you shorten the bed or find another one?

Drifters 01-24-2015 11:27 PM

Re: 68c10/c6

Ya I prefer the buy the long beds & shorten them there's a ton of long beds here in California! I also have a guy here who has 40 plus 67-72 C10s and I horse trade with him a lot! He's got some nice patina long beds that I want to shorten. I like the old tin over the China stuff!

Attachment 1354418Ok the console's mounted & the E-brakes mounted as well now it's time to mold it to the dash! I had to raise it 2 inches to clear the wiring harness which will run underneath.

Re: 68c10/c6

Slick job with the E-brake, look forward to more...Jim
