After all the fine comments .My question is? Was there any other direct fit smaller diameter steering wheels from cars that will replace the giant steering wheels of 1964-66 C 10 trucks .?With a working horn

Re: 1960 - 1965 Steering Wheels

I don't know, but the internal horn connection parts from my 66 Chevelle is the same as my 66 truck. The wheels are the same diameter however. I would look up the horn replacement kit with a supplier that is the same as your truck then match a smaller wheel that uses the same kit.

No. What I said is you could find a smaller wheel that uses the same horn internal parts. The wheels are the same diameter at about 16 1/2". Take a look at the El Camino wheel as the thread above suggests...

Re: 1960 - 1965 Steering Wheels

Here is a custom steering wheel in a 1966 GMC. I am pretty sure it is a Canadian GMC, as it is in Saskatchewan. Since the wheel appears to be a different color than the column, it may have been changed at some point in the past by a previous owner.

Re: 1960 - 1965 Steering Wheels

That steering wheel design was originally installed on 1960 Chevrolet Bel Airs (not Impalas) and later installed on the 1964 Custom Cab C10 Chevy pickup trucks. BTW, my 66 Custom Cab C10 was originally fitted with a 1965 Chevy Nova steering wheel as Chevy was upgrading their trucks and reaching back to earlier models to save cost. Google 1960 Bel Airs and take a look at the interiors.

Re: 1960 - 1965 Steering Wheels

That steering wheel was used in 1959 AND 1960 Biscayne and Bel Air .1961 Chevys trucks used this wheel also but it was Silver, White was used in 1962 and 1963 and part of 1964 in Chevy Trucks only. 1964 and 1965 Chevy custom wheels were fawn. GMCs never had a custom steering wheel , just the standard Chevy steering wheel 1960-1966.

Hi ,Yes , you could get a Custom wheel on any of the factory columns for 65 , no difference in the wheel to the columns

My Original Wheel O.D size is about 17 1/2 . The Steering wheel I installed is 16 1/2 from a 65 El Camino, Malibu, Chevy ll car it's Smaller than the O.G. wheel. The mounting holes all line up with the O.G Steering column...;)

Can someone please tell me if that is correct or just what years this wheel is correct for? I know they were on Custom 64's. Thank you very much!

Thats the one I have on my 65 Suburban. The only other one I've seen is the non custom one that has the Chevy II emblem in the center. The custom one was also used on the 59&60 Impalas as well.

Here is what appears to be a custom steering wheel in a 1965 GMC 910. It is another Canadian truck in Saskatchewan. This steering wheel matches the column. Could this be a Canadian thing for Custom wheels in GMC trucks?
