Re: What have you done to your truck this week.
That mirror must weigh a pound or two and a glass shop installed that windshield about 3 years ago and it was their mirror adhesive that gave way. I expected their glue to be better than some aftermarket one. Guess not.

The stuff I've seen in the last decade or so seems to bond poorly at best. Basically they're all darn poor excuses IMHO.
Here's an article about three of the bigger name brands. https://www.thedrive.com/reviews/285...w-mirror-glues . |

Front hubs/bearings, rotors, pads on my 2500HD. Big ass torque wrench required for the caliper bracket bolts.

Re: What have you done to your truck this week.
221ft lbs on those caliper to spindle bolts is no joke.
I'm going to be doing pads and rotors before the end of the summer. How obstructed is access to those bolts and the caliper bolts? I have an Astro 1894 and the 1822 Stubby so removal isn't awful as long as I have access. |

My advice to everyone doing this is to put jackstands under both sides and take both wheels off so you can turn the steering wheel to expose the calipers to wrench on them with the steering wheel turned, rather than having the wheels pointed straight. Turning the wheels to full lock with only one side on a jackstand and the other with the tire on the ground is super sketchy and dangerous IMO. |
Re: What have you done to your truck this week.
On the '03 Tahoe we put front brake pads on Sunday. Checked for any codes. Cleared to go. Tuesday light rain, used the wipers, then they would not shut off. I had 'em turn the key off when the wipers were in the down position then yank the fuse. Put the fuse back in later. All fixed! Nope, it will do it again. ;)
Bad relay or worn out motor? |

Re: What have you done to your truck this week.
I found a pulse board for $80. I can get a whole reman'd wiper motor for $135.
Considering the age, I think I'd replace the whole thing when it happens again. |

Replaced waterpump and thermostat on '02 Tahoe. Bought the cheapest O'Reilly's parts and used Supertech Dexcool so you know it's good.
