Not even sure i would call it a conversion as much as just all brand new parts. The dropmember accepts a range of arms and I chose the 73-87 year from air ride tech. The spindles are 2.5 drop from Western Chassis and the disks are from a factory 75 Chevy truck backrobbed from a junk yard. The disks were chromed and turned along with new bearing and seals. The bags in the front are slam specialties for an extra inch and minimal ballooning.

Nice looking build, the form, fit and finish are all outstanding . . . nice work! I noticed in one of your earlier pictures (posting #9) the engine block casting numbers, is your engine a "tall deck"? If so, who's pistons are you using and what's the compression ratio and dome shape? Thanks!

Re: "The Yellow Truck"

Its a standard deck, 10 to 1 compression, KB pistons

Re: "The Yellow Truck"

Yes and no. I'm eager and ready to go but at the mercy of a local chrome shops turn around tims. Everything on it is polished and chromed so it takes a while. In the mean time I've been tinkering with a 64 Lincoln but as soon as I get my oil pan back its game time. Not to mention keeping the CRF in prime time.

Shock set up. Shots of the headlights I'm going to use. They have an incorporated turn signal.

I like those headlights, look similiar to mine, except mine arent tri-bar. The shock mounts came out nice as well, its coming along!

RatRod68 07-06-2011 09:32 AM

Re: "The Yellow Truck"

i put a set very similar into my 71. You have to modify the headlight bucket a little bit because the turn signal section gets in the way. (Although I'm sure you already knew it)

Re: "The Yellow Truck"

looks good dude! those shock mounts are *****en for sure!
