lol that blue one looks soooo smooth and straight! Its hard to imagine them in new condition. Like oem4me's green truck. If you have some time i would love to see more factory photos. Where did you find them? I would love to get some.

You'll notice it's the same truck in both pics, just a little different vantage point.

Also - I thought it was interesting that the cab and box appear to be set separately. In all my years, we always set the cab and box at the same time.

those trucks were probably built in a west coast factory since the firewall is body color and not the interior fawn color like most east coast trucks were.

Full Size Trucks were built in both Flint and in Pontiac for the '65 model year. Are you saying they did not get a body colored firewall? I did not know that, if that is the case.

Many of the promotional photos I've seen were taken in Pontiac, because of it's close proximity to Chevy Central Office (in Warren Michigan).

Re: factory 65 chevy assembly picture

in my experience with the 64-66 trucks i have owned 8 of them i have had trucks from various plants. seems the east coast trucks solid and tutone colors the 64 and 65's had fawn firewalls, and the 66's with tutone paint had fawn firewalls, but the 66 solid color trucks had the firewall painted body color and i also know most all west coast trucks had body colored firewalls.i have owned trucks built in atlanta georgia, norwood ohio, and flint michigan.

I am looking on my droid, but I don't see a side emblem on the one at the beach, so I can't tell if it's a 64, 65, or 66.

It doesn't have any emblems?? Must be a mid-year COPO truck

The 1st picture below came from a Chevrolet sales brochure for camping. Looks like the same truck, and it looks like a 66. At least it appears there is something on the fender below the body line.

Could be - but it looks a little small (and it's hard to see any printing on it....).

lol-

Really like the pictures , thank's for sharing. We need an Original Photo's thread. Get all the literature nuts together and bank all the photo's, from all the years, we can find.

Heck yes! Great Idea!

Hey Aero, do you have all your stuff accessible in one place, or is it spread around throughout different threads.

Hmm I've always thought that these trucks came from the factory with rusty rockers and cab corners. Guess not :)

Cool pictures by the way!

Most of my stuff is on Picasa. I would copy all my pictures to a Original Only Thread if one was created. It's nice to see stuff as it came from the dealer. The pictures on this particular thread are amazing. Makes you wonder who else has some stuff hidden away. There should be a reference of where it came from Ex. 1963 Chevrolet Silver Book. ( along with the scratches from my cat on the cover, little *******!)
