What straps are included in the set? Does it differ between big block and small block?

There is 5 straps included in the set. 2 for the engine to firewall, 1 for the inner fender to frame, 1 for the cab to frame, 1 for the box to frame. Will work for big block or small block, also work for the 6 cylinder.

Any other questions please feel free to ask. These are in stock will ship same day if payed for by noon CST.

Thanks

"Box to the frame?" What exactly does that mean? I am new to this. Also, I second Rick's question, can you tell us all the spots they go on? Maybe attach a copy of the instructions? I am interested in buying them, but as I don't recall removing them from my truck, would like more info on where they go.

Thanks!
Darien

You are correct that one goes by the front cab mount. For V8 two straps go from the rear valve cover bolt to the firewall, passenger and drivers side.
Another goes from the inner fender well to the frame. Another goes on the side to the rear from frame mount to box. Hope this helps, any questions please feel free to ask.
Our straps come with complete directions for mounting.

Hi Darien, You probally don't remenber removing them, because over the years with changing engines the straps were never put back on, and the ones by the frame, probally just rusted away or got pulled off.
Your question box to frame, there is a strap that goes from the rear frame mount to the box . Hopes this helps answer you questions, if not please feel free to ask.
Thanks
David

I have seen references to 5 ground straps on this forum for as long as I've viewed it. It's probably true for some of the later years in the 67-72 period. However, I don't believe it applies to all years. Granted, I only have owned one of these trucks, but I have owned it since new. My early model year 1969 CST-20 with wood bed came from the factory with only 3. There were the 2 from the valve covers to the firewall and the one from the back of the forward passenger side cab mount to the cab. That's it. Sometime during the 70s, after being in the rust belt for a few years, I had some problems with the rear lights and the dealer suggested I run a ground from the bed to the frame. He did not say one of my grounds was missing. I agree 100% that more grounds are good and bet that they were probably added when others had problems like I had.

I just ordered your copper kit and will likely use all the straps. However, I believe anyone attempting a 100 point factory correct restoration should do some research.

Of course, the factory made mistakes, and perhaps they just forgot the other 2 on my truck. If anyone has hard evidence that all V8 67-72 trucks had 5 straps, I'd be very interested in seeing it.

I'm sorry if I'm starting a debate in a for sale thread.

I have a 67 that has been in the family since it was about a year old. The only strap that might not have been there from the factory is the one from the fender well to the frame. In those years the straps were a big part for cutting the static on the AM radios.
Now days with the new headlights, stereo's etc. they are very important.
Why is the fender well to frame important? Because the coax coming from you radio to your antenna mounted on your fender needs to be grounded.
When your truck is rebuilt there is paint on the places your fender mounts, and takes away some of the grounding.
Something else very important when mounting your antenna is to make sure the botton side of the fender is clean an no paint, so the antenna can ground. Some of you feel you stereo should pull in more distance stations, than it does.
Try cleaning the inside of the fender where the antenna mounts, and run a ground strap fron the fender well to the frame.
Any other questions please feel free to ask. Thanks
