Wow love this build so far! Im also planning to use a 4x4 s10 suspension under my truck so this build is very interesting to me. Also like the s10 bed floor section.. was it a fleet side or stepside bed floor?

Also can i ask how far from the front fenders do the wheels sit in with the 4x4 wheels? Im planning to use 2wd standard offset (4.5" backspacing) wheels and wondering how close to the fenders they'd sit.

thanks. I used a short bed fleet side. I wish I could have found a long bed, but it was cheep. I am not sure how the wheels sit in the fender... I have not measured that. If I had to guess, I would say 4". I will measure that the next time I have the fenders on.

Spent some time today working on the drivers side cab corner, but mostly I modified the transmission hump from the Blazer to fit in the truck. I found a lot more rust in the floor once I ground all of the dirt off. Oh well. Not done, but you get the idea.

ya, I'm bummed that I can't use the Blazer AC unit or tail lights. I am still eyeballing the Blazer doors and tailgate trying to decide if I am going to cut them up for sheet metal, door latches, power window stuff, etc. I am running out of flat sheet metal to make patches from. :)

Nice project, sometimes the only way to learn is just to do it and if you mess up figure out why and do it again. Can't wait to see it finished.

Are you going to lengthen the frame or shorten the bed? Are you keeping it 4 wheel drive?

will only be a 2wd don't want the 4wd.
going to make a flat bed to get it on the road then take the back frame from a 2nd blazer to make the right wheel base have you gone your wipers working . i used the rear wiper off a 2002 blazer |

if you need any info on the wiring let me know Ihave the wiring diagrams or anything I can help with.I rewired everything from the computer to inside of the cab . have the fuse box ,relays(used from blazer) under drivers seat

the front goes completely around and the rear only goes about 120degress
it's more like the vac wipers that were on the trucks i have more pic of how I did my wipers if you want to see them |

Very good on this project.great ideal on the front axle,the new two wheel dr. frames are set to be used both ways.your work looks good,no matter how long you work on these,you always learn something new.

Put in a lot of time this week patching the battery box hole, passenger side corner rust and filling the four holes for the old pedals. I ran out of gas for my welder so I shifted my focus to body filler. Wow, this is hard. I don't know how you guys do it. I have a lot more work to do to get everything flat and smooth, but I got it to a point where I could put on some primer on it to see where my problem areas are.

Weekly update (I think this is week 18 of the build). I used the seat mounts from the Blazer and mounted my new seat frame to the floor of the cab. I then put the cab back onto the chassis to get the running board brackets set up and put on. I also spent a little time placing stuff like the ECU and cruise control on the fire wall to see where all the wiring is going to end up.
I really like how its sitting so far... the running board (and frame) is about 7" off the ground at the front fender. |

Week 19 - Didn't do much this week... getting real hot out there in AZ. I lengthened the steering shaft and installed it. I also spent some time rerouting and connecting the brake lines to the master cylinder because I had to remove the anti-lock braking module (because it was too big to fit)

week 20. I took a week off because of the heat, then last week I hauled all of my scrap steel... over 1100 pounds ... to the recycle place and got a wapping $87 for my troubles. I also got a screwed up back in the process... sheeeesh! After taking a week off for that, I was back at it this week... even though it is still getting up to 112 deg. here.
I don't like how the side posts on the bed just come down and end like they do, so I decided to drill out the spot welds and remove them. The front one will get moved forward (towards the front corner) more to close the ugly gap at the cab. All four supports are now rounded at the bottom. Not done, but you get the idea...... |

your doing a good job I'll be doing the 4x4 next year so i'am taking notes. have you done anything with the bed yet? I know the frame rails are going to be some what of a problem. thanks for your ideas.
