here is our truck at ride height. with the coil over system as a bolt in, you wont be able to go any lower than this without bed modifications or crossmember modifications

I can run out in a little while and get a more direct side shot

Is that with drop spindles?
What size is the tire?
What is the measurement from the front cab mount to ground?

Sorry for the questions, just trying to figure out if it will get me to where I want to be sitting

Looks like the wheel is in the stock/oem position.
About 3/4"-1" too far back in the wheel opening.
Just a thing I hate about these trucks.
(my opinion)
Porterbuilt and Hotchkis have addressed this.

They will use a factory style ball joints.
The arms are designed to utilize our sway bars.

I've read the primary difference beween 67-72 control arms and 73-87 control arms is the steel bushings were replaced with rubber bushings. The rubber bushings are softer for a smoother, but less controlled ride. Most tubular control arms use urethane, delrin, or other hard plastic bushings. I was also told that 73-87 control arms could be mounted on a 67-72 C10.
Can someone tell me why would Ridetech need to develop a different set up for the 73-87 C10?
Thanks

We just need to confirm fitment for the new upper mount.

Re: RideTech's New C10 CoilOver Kits

Thanks for the info.
1) Do the upper and lower bushings match stock C10 spindle?
2) Will your arms work with the stock 73-87 spindles?
3) Is it correct the $1400 kit does not include the coilover shocks?
4) Is it possible to buy the upper bracket alone if we already have arms, and if so, what would be the cost?
Thanks

Re: RideTech's New C10 CoilOver Kits

1) Do the upper and lower bushings match stock C10 spindle?
-no, our control arms use Delrin self lubricating bushings, so you cannot use OE bushings.

2) Will your arms work with the stock 73-87 spindles?
Yes, the difference is in the ball joint. We select the ball joints based on the platform year you order. If you are using spindles from a year other than the trucks manufacture date just let us know what year the spindles came from and we'll match it up.

3) Is it correct the $1400 kit does not include the coilover shocks?
That is correct. As we offer many different shock options it's best to sell the two separately. This allows you to choose whatever shock option is best for your build.

4) Is it possible to buy the upper bracket alone if we already have arms, and if so, what would be the cost?
The upper bracket is not available separately as the shock length is critical. So you need to use our new arms to make sure the dimensions are correct.

Is the centering of the wheels, in the wheel-well, going to be addressed by RideTech?

marolf101x 10-11-2013 08:17 AM

Re: RideTech's New C10 CoilOver Kits

The wheel is centered in the wheel well. The pic above just makes it look like it's not.
I'm on my phone so I cannot add a pic.

What "my eyes" see,... is the space behind the tire is smaller than the space in front of the tire.
Not seen as much with a static drop.
If it was bagged,... it would look even worse air'd out.

Just a personal preference in looks.

Ha.
Sometimes I say too much.
Just voice my opinion,... and try to remind that it is just my opinion.
If anything,... "I prefer" the wheel a little forward,... in the wheel opening.

Ridetech make a QUALITY product and has for MANY years.

I have seen the truck in person the tires must be turned some. They did center them back up when the kit was built.

I think there charging entirely to much for making slight alterations to a 50year design. And most of the credit goes to ol' hot rodders who have been addressing these issues for years.
That being said, it definitely looks good and must save some people lots of headaches. Not to mention irs way nice to stumble across your stuff or the like used on craigslist for next to nothing!

whats the general consensus and feed back on this kit? I am about to make a final decision between this and air. I really don't need air as I like the stance I currently have but it rides rough.

Re: RideTech's New C10 CoilOver Kits

You will have a nice ride with this kit and handle well. If you get the hq shocks you can dial it in.
