Re: 1970 k/20 project
I prefer 4 speed manual transmissions over automatics...and the 205 trans cases are bulletproof, good combo, now if you can get an open knuckle disc brake frontend, that is an excellent upgrade, one from any year in the 70's will bolt right in,dana 44 up thru '76 I think, then gm went to 10 bolt front ends, but not really necessary, you are doing a great job on your truck!

I hate when someone does a half as-ed job on something and have to fix it....you will have a really nice truck when you are done, keep up the good work!

so then in order to remove the old ones and install the new ones we loosened the radiator to get at the bolts and took my gas tank out to remove the back ones.

So today my grandpa, my cousin and a good friend and i went to a local junk yard. My cousin went to get wing window latches for his 79 dodge powerwagon. my buddy needed a fender for his 88 chevy pickup. I needed a bench seat. and my grandpa just came with to help out. I got my seat out of a squarebody, i think is was a 79. the seat is not as bad as it looks in the pic just needs new foam. I also already put it in. So it was a good day and we all got what we needed.

Unfortunately there were no 67-72 chevy trucks there but a lot of squarebodys. Here are some pics. In the one picture there is whole row of them.

I found a sliding back window from klingers junkyard up in pine grove pa. Original and not a scratch on it. Sliders work smooth and he only charged me $40 bucks, I thought that was a steal

Re: 1970 k/20 project
Collin, nice K20 and great work on it! My 2nd truck was a 70 K20, I loved that truck. It was a work in progress as well. I eventually sold it to a good friend after we restored all the powertrain and replaced all the sheet metal. Several years later he got in financial trouble and called me asking if I wanted to buy the truck back. I did. He trashed it pretty bad. I built a pulling truck out of it and then eventually kept the cab and frame then sold the rest. I'm hoping to resurrect this truck this winter. Anyhow, keep up the great work.
