I am going to consolidate the post so it can be followed more easily. We are moved a little forward with the custom work on my Panel. The 59 Impala dash ends are finished formed and we are finishing the barn door jambs where the Silverado hinges were mounted for the barn door conversion. Once this custom work is completed, I will be pulling the motor and transmission out of the Camaro to fit it before I send them out to be rebuilt. WES

A little more work done. Bracing the 1/2 barn doors and closing in the right hinges. I ordered a NOS Tahoe rear outer door handle for the inside of the right panel 1/2 barn door. Then the hurricane hit! The part was in Florida. I hope everyone is safe... WES

Not much more to report on, but we did get some Finnish welding done and the lift gate that I will be using installed. Going to have to use a shorter studs for the lift gate struts because the rub and push the lift gate out of alignment when closed. WES

So this is why my firewall insulation isn't here yet: you're working in the shop. Just kidding. Looks great Wes. I'm on board.

Thanks guys. It's getting interesting. I hope within 2 weeks or so I'll have all the body panels on and fitted. Then I am going to install the LS motor and 4l60E. Hey Pete, I used your firewall pads on this project.. LOL. JK. WES

I wish I could claim it... It was done one other time that I know of. It was a green 67 suburban. I was the first to use the 2008 Silverado extended cab rear door hinges. WES

A few more progress pics. The front clip has been fitted and the lines still need a little work. It may have something to do with the hinges being a little flexible, who knows at this point. I may need to order billet hinges to fix it. I also should have taken a picture of the NOS driver's side door. We will have to split the window frame to open up the gap in the front upper corner. Otherwise not only would the gap be bad, but the paint would be damaged when the door closes. WES
