That's a pretty cool idea, but you know me, gotta be factory :)

I painted new bumpers, the grill, the front of the fenders, and the wheels argent silver. I got my tires mounted up today

Ya, factory is great too. I like to build them like I think GM would have if the technology was there then. That's why I am installing an LS1 350 and 4L60E transmission...

Joe did you ever get the stock seat belt configuration figured out?

No I didn't. I was hoping someone would have a picture of one with the passenger outer belt still in it. The passenger seat belts were removed from mine for some reason. You can see where the outer belt was bolted to the wood floor. I'll get a picture of the floor tomorrow.

Where did you get your tires from? And are they tubed or tubeless?

I ordered them online from a place called Simple tire. They have good prices and usually free shipping. This set of 4 was $435.96 to my door.

Very cool panel.
Not sure why I didn't see this thread before.
I'd love to have a 2wd version of your panel.

Here's where the passenger outer belt was. There is a factory nut plate under it. Notice the "X" grease pencil mark where the belts went. Never mind that bolt in the floor.

I just discovered this thread. What a great one and I'm glad it fell into good hands. So, did this one never have fire dept. markings on it? I wonder about the Custom Package on a panel. I would have expected to see vinyl door panels. A local funeral parlor started up in '68 and their first vehicle was a '68 Panel with Custom trim (C/10). They still have it. I thought it had the vinyl panels but I can go by and look.

This one did have lettering on the panel sides. You have to get it in the right light to see them.
As for the Custom package, it's a bit odd? You would think it would at least have had arm rests?? It has chrome around he windows and on the vent windows. It also has a cigarette lighter. And it has the Custom emblems on the doors. Seems like you didn't get much on a panel

Great find Joe, I saw the CST emblems and thought it odd for a plain work truck. Did you sand blast wheels to repaint them? ....Ed.

The Panel is actually a Custom, not a CST. A CST panel would have been really cool, and even more rare.
I did sandblast the wheels and paint them.

Would all the stuff you painted have been argent silver or white from the factory? The silver looks really good.

Everything on this truck was argent silver. I'm not sure why some are white and some are silver. Here was the grill, notice the paint didn't stay on the fenders very good. The chrome bumper is incorrect. The rear bumper is original

CG, I found this one on Facebook

Looks like the "sell it & regret it" model !

Really nice Joe.

Awesome find! Isn't that the rarest 67-72 model made?

Re: I picked up a rare one, 68 K/20 panel

Yep! Rarer than hens teeth. Well, hens don't have teeth so those are more rare. I guess '67 had less? I haven't looked at production numbers lately.

I'll take a look at that one near me to see what door panels it has. I think it's still outside.

So I guess someone after the FD buffed the lettering off and it has since faded. My '95 Suburban was a Sheriff's Dept. K-9 wagon (vinyl letters) and you can still see the markings in the right light.
