Put a burgundy stripe above the body line looked good.
Great truck too went 317k before we sold it.

I should mention: that's why I got the red interior in the pick up.

I had an 86 suburban that was red with the brown interior and the ladies hated that too. They thought it looked like a "rotten tomato ".

When I was picking my Burb up and saw the interior I thought it was a mistake. Once I realized it was as ordered I wished I had gone with the saddle. But I got used to it. Whoever at GM decided to call it red was color blind......:lol::lol:

Engineers don't do "pretty".

I would have tactfully explain how "uncrowded" it was walking if they disliked the colors that much,,, but I'm kinda an a$$ when it comes to things like that!
Might have something to do with no ladies in my life,,,

I always thought this GMC was an interesting combination, light yellow/white top with green interior and a factory stake bed.

Re: Odd Ext/Int Color Combos

I always figured GM did those Medium Olive/Grapefruit and Light Green/Light Yellow combos for the "more mature" owners. That is a throwback to the '50s combination. You know, the long bed trimmed out pickup with narrow whitewalls and the red edge of the rim showing around the wheelcover... either factory or off some Chevy car.

ok I had to do a double take, I didnt expect to just be browsing around this site and see my old bobby allison nascar replica. i bought that car in 2000 and spent 7 years restoring it. the picture you posted was in hot rod magazine. i sold the car a couple years ago to coca-cola.

What about no contrast !
White on white in a truck doesn’t make much sense ?

I always thought the same thing Eric. Then I got the 72, and the weird combo kinda grew on me. The plaid may have helped though. I think the white/parchment combo especially looks great in your Super, the woodgrain really sets it off without a lot of other contrast.

I'm straining my eyes trying to read that SPID. Is the flatbed listed and is the model# for cab & chassis?

Funny. Now that you told me I can make it out on the SPID. That is an odd ball truck all around. That's the kind I look for.

Yep its hard read, the interior colors aren't really wild like some others and actually dont look that bad. Its a truck somebody ordered and knew exactly what they wanted.

Re: Odd Ext/Int Color Combos

Hey Joe, where did you find that truck? That's the same one I started this thread about. I know my friend bought it in NC and brought it to PA. My guess is it's for sale again, but that's not his place in the pictures. So I'm thinking it may be getting flipped again. It was not listed for dale when my friend found it, and here's the story:

My friend is in NC to buy an all original '67 CST/10 lwb from original owner. The truck had 69-72 wheel covers so he asks the seller if he still had the originals. The man tells him he swapped with a friend, and told him to stop by to see if he'd let them go.

So my friend finds the place and there sat this gold '70. My friend tells the guy his buddy told him he should stop by and buy this truck... just to be silly. The old feller names a price! So the following week my friend is hustling back down that hiway to haul back this truck
