Pretty good progress and I like that you're laying the windshield back.

Not bad for a weekend! The windsheild being laid back actually made it lower too. Not to mention all the gas I'll save with the better aerodynamics!!!!

Is the SPID intact? I'm sure DeadheadNM and some of us would like to see what it "used to be".....There is a thread for it: "Blazer SPID thread?". Thanks

The SPID is intact, but painted over. I will try to clean it since I am curious as well. I do know it is a CST, but that's about it. It has been customized, not very good I might add, probably twice from what I can tell. Nothing original is left but guages, glove box door and heat ducting/switches. The column is out of a late model from the looks of it. I'll see if the SPID stays legible and try my best to clean it.

Hahahha, the 73 Cheyenne will see no hackin', just a good clean up, a few new parts and MAYBE some new paint....same color. Definitely some new carpet, seat covers and dash......

So did you buy the 73 too Dave? I would love to find one of those. My first truck was a 73. I hated that truck at times but it taught me so much.
Keep the updates coming.

My buddy bought it from the same guy that I bought mine from. It was sunk into the ground in a barn, literally a barn find. We installed an HEI distributor this past weekend and got it running, it sounds good and the AC even works in it!!!

You guys are killing me with the barn finds. I wish there were more barns around here. Glad to see is saving it. Hopefully, he's a member here? Build thread.....

The ones from Slick? What size were those? I'd like to have a set of them just to change it up every once in a while, plus I love the look.

They are 15 X 8 but the back tire measures about 10 inches wide, they may be too wide as well.

Nice mods already. I've seen a few people do the cuts on the doors. I'll be watching.

Well guys, I tried to clean the SPID off and someone had already ripped off the majority of it. No info on this one. But I did find that Reducer works really well but slow at taking paint off without hurting the SPID.

Drove to a little town called LaVernia close to San Antonio this past Saturday, about 3 hours and 15 minutes one way to pick up a really clean hood. The lady parting out the 68 gave me the hood hinges and headlight buckets with trim rings for free. She also said the core support (in nice shape) would be delivered here in H-Town for the low price of $60 bucks, by her!! Hell-of-a-deal!!!:metal: Couldn't wait so I slapped the hood on the Blazer.....oh and I pulled the front springs.......

After an exciting couple of weeks I finally got back on the Blazer. Got to hang out with Mr. Slosh Tubz himself Mike Losh for a little while at Lone Star Throwdown (got my Slosh Tubz) and met Travis from Pro Performance. The C5 brake kit is awesome! I learned a new skill as well, welding! Love it, this was my first time to mig and it came out pretty nice!! Really looking forward to getting in my Porterbuilt stuff soon too!

Here are a couple of pics of the Blazer, I was able to tack in the side marker lights and cut the drip rail off and the a-pillars. I purchased my first aftermarket fender, let's see how that goes. I pulled all the springs out to see what it would look like too. :metal:

Might add this 74 to the herd. Blazers are addicting! The price is right but the 4 hours each way to go get it isn't fun.:gmc2:

Yeah, no doubt! It's the same guy I bought my 72 from and my friend's 73, my brother in law bought a 50 Buick Dyna Flow from him as well. Since I helped him sell all of these he was going to give a great deal on this one.

How about some pics!!! Did a little more to the windsheild and finally gathered all my parts to move them to the storage behind the shop. Got in my Calicombo tailgate delete kit last night, can't wait to open it and check it out!! And a little buzzed pinstriping from this weekend too.
