Started out as a 1973, was built into an off Road race truck in either 1981-82, then purchased by none other than Walker Evans for one of his clients who needed an off road class 8 truck built. Walker took the 73 and updated the cage and suspension, and also a newer grill/front fenders to the mid 80's. The truck raced in the SCORE/HDRA series in the 1980's and also a smaller Arizona series where it won a couple Championships under Bill Howard. The truck changed hands a couple times and now I'm the proud owner of this little piece of off road

Plan is to tear it down to the frame and restore her back to the original colors and get her back in racing form to compete in the NORRA Mexican 1000 vintage off road race held every May in Baja Mexico. This restoration will start after this years Mexican 1000 because i have a different project I'm finishing up.

While I think your truck is AWESOME, this is a thread for crew cabs ;)

More air will not hurt anything, don't take any more advice from who ever told you that. I'm going to run mine to a box behind the headlights because right now it's sucking hot air from the engine which doesn't help. I'll get a few pics for you this afternoon. PM me your email and I'll send them there.

Yes they have. It would look a lot better with more lift or less tire and non hacked fenders. Just my .02. :mm:

Nearly 5 years and this thread is still going strong, love it. I suppose I'll throw my hat in the ring.first of all, I should probably thank you all for inspiring me to go out and get a crew of my own, in turn causing my family and friends to hate me due to my incessant ramblings about said crew  . Anyways, Here's my 79 Chevy 1ton (it's actually a rebadged gmc. But Chevy k30 sounds way better than gmc tk3 like the ownership says). As it sits right now it's got a 350 cubic inch boat anchor under the hood, but I just went and picked up a 2002 lm7 with 68,000 km's today. So once I clean it up and give it a fresh coat of paint, along with a cam and some headers, it'll settle in nicely with the 4l80. Maybe I'll even do an ls swap thread of my own :haha:y'all will have to forgive me as pics are limited, but I'll post more as I get em
