K...Jon, I may have found an answer for our ill fitting alum. rads., seems like the 4 core brackets with a 2-3 core rubber works best

MAN these pics just saved me serious frustration and a bunch of time. This way makes sense. I was making no sense.

good work on your blazer

while you were doing the floor and rocker area work were you putting the fender and door on and off to check the alignment of it all or was it just done from measurements?

:lol:Cool, glad I could help ya. That's why I spend so much time taking pics., more work for me, but someone mite need referance. I had demensions, but I hung the door shell lots of times to make sure. Those scratches were hammer marks, ya can see how much I had to move metal. That was one of the more difficult areas to work on.

Just spent 2 months trying to figure out how to hang my alum. rad. with factory brackets, will post up pics shortly

How's yours gonin' haven't seen any updates lately

When you're up I want to show you "Plan B" on the rad mounts. I think I can skip mounting them on top of the support all together and weld all those holes in. I'm going to make a long "L" shaped bracket about 2" x 2", and vee shaped from top to bottom, that will weld to the sides of the radiator and bolt into the two vertical supports on either side of the rad. I'll do them in aluminum and polish them up

Just got it, went down to look at mine, and I see the 'V' shape your talking about. Will it be isolated in rubber?

Yeah, that's the one that came to mind. Now we just have to find the steel rings:lol:
I tried to click on that site, no worky. Do I have to put an actual word in where the 'stars' are?

Re: PO has me PO'd

Finally got the alum. rad. mounted up. Seems like the problem is the corners of the tanks are more squared off, as compared to the radius of the stock tank. Got some 4 core mounts, thanks 6t727t2, and this gave me more space for the rubber to lay down. I still have to shorten the brackets by a 1/2", but atleast it's mounted in securely and I can move on to plumbing

I'll just put some rubber washers there. It's still going to be sitting in the factory 4 core saddles. I'm going out now to get some aluminum stock and the welder will come by later today. I took pictures of the templates and I'll post them after it looks like it's a success...LOL

:lol:yeah, I can't turn wrenches, watch Nascar, and type at the same time

JC was over yesterday, dropped off my hardtop, he was very impressed with your '67 grille. I think he may be in contact with you. My parking lts slipped rite in, and that whole grille fit well. I used old parts including the hood latch

Finished up the grille/core support area, working on the hoses now

Bought myself some presents for getting a new job, top box and a tool/work cart. Parts came from Tim Christian, grille hoop clips, some other parts. Still one of the best guys to deal with...

are you missing the grille center support?

Tim just sent me up some door seals; hope to see him the 8th or 9th down in Carlisle.

Not missing, just didn't put it in. It feels real solid without it, maybe later maybe not at all. I may modify it to use the bottom half....looks like I'm going to miss Carlisle, enjoy and buy lots of parts

that sucks, I just came through your neck of the woods today. mama found a Ferrari in Philly that she HAD to have.. went ahead and made my trip to ScottH's place and picked all my goodies up since I was out that way... Sorry I didn't have a chance to stop in, pouring rain, Philly and a trailer was a little busy for me!

Here's a pic of what the new ride looks like... Little guy should like it!

I would have opted for the Testa Rossa, dated styling, but still better than the Daytona:lol: No wonder our children grow up to be motorheads. What part of Philly were you in?

I wish I woulda known, JC came over and could've brought your parts, could've saved ya 4 hours of travel, Your right that was a very nasty storm, lightning was hitting all around us. Glad it didn't knock out the TV, indy was on.LOL

That's cool, we used to fly airplanes(control line) as kids, put ribbons on the tail, and with two guys in a ring we could have dogfights. They were plastic to start out with, almost indestructable, well almost, but the motors always seemed to pull thru. Then you built the balsa wood models with the motor and continued on

Glad your bringing up Jr. the right way:lol:

Had to look at the pic twice, got it now...Corsair/ Navy no less

I have to read your threads closely, sometimes you stick bold type in there
