Re: 66 C20 327, green original engine paint
Was trying to update my build thread a bit & wanted to link yours. I just noticed you were using Photobucket to host the pics. They've been disabled. I've got an account there as well & received an email saying they're disabling hosting to third party sites unless you pay to upgrade the account. Just wanted to give you a heads up, because I think your pictures are a big help. They're what led me to contacting you about the engine paint.

Has anyone done a comparison with the Buick Green from Por 15?

And this guy said he used Onan Generator Green from Cummins. It looks pretty close.

I don't know if you guys have seen this, but the POR 15 Buick green looks pretty good in this pic. https://www.caswellcanada.ca/images/...ck%20green.png
I don't know anything about this company, but that pic came from their page. https://emeraldcoatings.com/product/...-1-quart-copy/ |
Re: 66 C20 327, green original engine paint
Buick Green looks pretty good to me for the 327-292, thanks for the link to this color. I believe we are getting closer. Interesting Buick used it up to '65. Would like to see an engine painted Buick Turquoise, may be a close match for the 230-250? Does Emerald Coating offer the paint in rattle cans?

I received a couple of samples of KBS Motor Coater from KBS Coatings. They have a line of products similar to POR 15. One is Detroit Diesel Alpine Green, the other is Buick Green. They are very glossy and I had a hard time getting the colors to show without shadows or reflections. The photos with the dark background were taken in direct sunlight shortly after noon. The other was taken in the shade.

I am rebuilding my engine at the moment and am looking for the original color. It looks like I need to go a different route unless someone has come up with another solution.
