Re: Impressed with our Burb!
I really like how you're revitalizing this burban and setting it up for your family to enjoy. IMO, the back could come up a little bit so that the fender lip hits the same spot on the tire as it does in the front. That would give you a little bit of a rake, but I actually think that looks good. Would give you some more clearance in the rear.

Re: Impressed with our Burb!
Just got through reading your thread here. I like the burb! After all of the new gaskets are you losing any oil or was it all just leaks?

I'm exchanging texts this morning with my local "pusher man", trying to make a trade for a bench seat for the Burb and a stepside bed for my '64. Man, it never ends...:uhmk: |

Re: Impressed with our Burb!
I like your burb! I'm more old school in what I like. I didn't see the specs on how much you lowered it. Just seen the drop spindles. I'm wanting to lower my 91.

Re: Impressed with our Burb!
Thanks! The front has 2.5" drop spindles and one coil cut for about 2" more drop. Rear is flipped via Specialty Retails drop brackets http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...highlight=flip

So...I'll just drive it around a bit, he said. I'll get it aligned soon enough, he said. Well "he" was wrong. Here we are getting new skinny whites for the front and headed to the alignment shop. Only put a couple hundred or so miles on 'em, but they were already showing just a wee bit of cord on the inside treads. Whoops! |

Well folks, the Burb has gone on to a new owner so I can fund my 4X build. I realized after owning a lowered rig for awhile that I like the way they look much much more than I like driving one. I actually miss the license plates and steering wheel the most
The new smiling owner headed out... |
Re: Impressed with our Burb!
I saw this and wish I could have snagged it. I guess I was a few hours too late. It was on CL and tried to email. Nice rig.

Re: Impressed with our Burb!
Yeah, I put it on fb too, and the first response was within a couple hours and he bought it.

Re: Impressed with our Burb!
:whine::whine::whine: so what about the lowering did you hate? I'm still thinking I want mine at least couple inches lower.
|
Re: Impressed with our Burb!
I really didn't hate it, it just wasn't for me. We're rural, and the roads absolutely suck around here and of course there are ditches on each side. I envisioned us parking to take pics of old barns and stuff, but I couldn't even pull off the road  I probably would've been happier with just a spindle and rear lowering spring setup, but then it wouldn't have the look I was after. The Burb was actually the first vehicle I've ever intentionally purchased in 2wd. Like I said...wasn't for me.

Re: Impressed with our Burb!
Got ya, I love the look also but never had one that low. I have an 85 4x4 with 4in lift had to have when I was younger, country boys and their 4x4s lol, but i actually prefer a 2wd. I will follow you other build!

Re: Impressed with our Burb!
Hate to see it go. But better things wait.

Re: Impressed with our Burb!
I just bought a burb too and was thinking about lowering but i don't think you said what drop you did on yours i know that back is like a 5 or 6 but what was the front.

Re: Impressed with our Burb!
