so.. I didn't powdercoat the rear tubular cross-member because I need to sort out the mount for the fuel cell and may need to do some welding.

The truck came with a plastic fuel cell and Ray (previous owner) fabbed up a pretty cool mounting system... but.. I may end up going to an aluminum jobbie... maybe a boyds tank.. and as such.. I should wait before I mount the rear cross-member.

Next week we'll have rubber mounted and hopefully get to rolling chassis status.

Anyone know a machine shop in Calgary that's good to work with? I need my axles redrilled.

Delmo is a slave-driver...

Somebody has to keep me in line though.. thanks brother..

Ok.. last weekend I removed my <<wrong size>> lower ball joints and got new guys pressed in...

Also had my rear axles machined to fit my McGaughy's rotors and bolt pattern.

Put together the front end (mostly) and popped the axles in..

Bought some cross sills, removed the steel floor (took way longer than I spected)..

Hit my head really hard on the two master cylinder bolts on the brake booster... (my head is bald so I don't have the early warning danger detection system you hairy dudes have)..

That's about it for progress...

Supposed to get my tires in sometime in the next 48 hrs so hope to have the thing sitting on wheels/rubber and the cab removed this weekend so I can do the rest of the body drop and start plumbing..

Oh.. and... I sold my extra porterbuilt chassis to a cool cat here in Calgary.. so I finally have a little bit of room to operate.

..sorry for the crappy pics..

Re: Worlds Slowest Dropmember Build

It's not sitting right on the ground because the frame has a section under the cab where the frame rails bend/flare about 1 inch lower than the bottom of frame rail..

http://i984.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/DSCN2058.jpg

Not sure if I should try to bend this upwards or cut them out... will figure it out when I get the cab off...
