only necessary if you want to lay frame

My frame is 4" from the floor, but the body is much closer. I do only have 17" rims though, so I guess if you wanted to be low with big wheels you would need the rear drop member? How close to the ground does the frame have to be to consider it laying frame??? my truck body is in the way. I am laying mufflers  as they sit on the ground when parked.

Touching! lol my truck already has a bodydrop by way of lowered cab mounts and a quick look last night, the body appears to be as low or slightly lower than the frame, so I'm looking to lay body :)

My bed sits lower than my frame, I have to see if there are any bodymounts, maybe they are missing. It does line up with cab though.

I'll try to take a pic of mine this weekend. I just brought the truck home last night in the dark so I'm still learning what 50 years of 'experience' it has :D

also, mine is a '61 on a '68 frame that could play a role.

The rear is simple, just add lower block to get on ground, with notch and shock relocate of course. Oh, and cutting bed floor and everything else.

Did you cut the frame and move up mounting point or chop the crossmember? Also what rims are those?

Re: 1969 C20 Lowered Custom

notched the crossmember so the frame rails would sit lower. The wheels are 18" 8 lugs off a dodge 3/4 ton.

That is exactly why I went for it and made my own, I cannot believe a new grille is half as much as I paid for the truck.
