Thanks Flips. I am not very good at the final stages of the body work, I can get it close then have some else take over for the final body work till the priming starts. Have a great weekend.

I just checked out your build and I love them suburbans. Yours looks very nice. The stance is right on. I like that watts link. And thanks for the nice words. Spring is coming and hopefully I will have something to drive. Have a good weekend.

Re: 1965 C-10 LS build

Was able to get some work done over the past few days. I had a friend come over and help me with the body work. The passenger door gaps are done. Had to cut some metal out to move the right rear cab corner in at the door, it was out about 1/4 past the door. My buddy showed me a few other tricks on some issues with these lovely after market body parts.

Here are a few pics:http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/...s/4c5cf6d6.jpg

Sorry about the pictures there from my phone.

A few more new parts came in. The front air bag kit for the front from AVS arrived. A new radiator from Speedway Motors and a third brake light from a 1999 Yukon. My rear suspension should be here next week then the fun begins with the suspension. Hope everybody has a great weekend. :exit:

Re: 1965 C-10 LS build

Just a little update on the build. The body work is about 90% complete. I installed the front air bags. The only issue was with trying to get the fittings not to leak. The reducer bushing would only go in about 2 threads. I called AVS and they sent me some new fittings. The rear suspension is getting delivered tomorrow, so hopefully that will be done by next weekend. Got the grill mount to check the fit. That went good. The headers came last week, "Thanks SHON for the great prices and getting them shipped out fast". The headers fit great, very little work had to be done to get them to fit. I ordered the exhaust tubing and the intake air tubing from "Mandrel Bending Solutions". These parts are due sometime next week. I ordered some radiator hoses and tubing from Speedway Motors. I have a feeling trying to get the radiator hoses to fit may be the hardest part of the LS install. I got the third brake light mounted. Its from a Chevy Tahoe.

Coming along nicely! What radiator did you order?

Re: 1965 C-10 LS build

Thanks for looking at my build. I ordered the radiator from speedway motors. The part number is 917340-28.

Not sure yet on how it is going to work. I am waiting for the radiator hoses to try it out. The only issue so far is that the lower hose is going to be short at an angle of about 45 degrees. Will have an hpdate in a few days.:chevy:

Thanks. I will post it as soon as the parts come in. For the bottom hose it think a 45 degree angle on the hose will work. For the top I think it will be a combo of hose a some aluminum tubing. I Hope.

Re: 1965 C-10 LS build

I finshed the rear suspension swap. It went fairly easy. The only problem was getting the cross member out. This was the first time I every install a "C" notch and the worst part was hoping I maked the cut area in the correct location. After all the cutting and drilling of rivits the parts went together fairly quickly. I'm hoping to get some pictures posted tomorrow.

The only suspension upgrades that are left is the front shock relocation brackets and new front shocks. Hope everyone has a good night.:chevy:

Re: 1965 C-10 LS build

It's been a couple of months since my last post but I have gotten some things done. First the engine is running after some help from help from forum members and some friends. The body work is @ 90% done. Still have some body lines to finish up and have to redo the drivers can corner, thought it was done but it's a little close to the bed. Nothing a little cutting and welding won't fix. After that a lot of block sanding I don't have any good pictures yet but will get some up loaded.

I'm hoping to get the torque converter ordered along with the drive shaft this week. After them get here I can order up the rest of the air ride system. I was able to get the gauges mounted and working.
http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/...s/dc1b13ff.jpg

It's been so flipping hot lately about the only things that have gotten done are the engine running, the gauge cluster done. But today I made a air box for the air filter and re did the breather vent.

I hope together some more body picture posted soon.

On a different note my daughter plays travel softball and we were at a tournament and this guy had this cart there for all the equipment. It has a pitching machine, cooler, stereo and other equipment. It runs on batteries that drive the rear wheels and is controlled with a system like is used on a battery powered pallet jack. While looking at it the builder came over and it was Troy Trepanier of Rad Rides by Troy.

Thanks for the comment. Trust me i'm no autobody person. I just try to get it close and have someone else finish it up. I have a few friends that like to do body work. I just mainly like the mechanical part. Good luck with your build.
Robert

Re: 1965 C-10 LS build

I worked on the air system over the past couple of days. I have almost all the air system mocked up. Just have to mount the compressor when it gets here.

http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/...411D21BAB0.jpg

http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/...40FC834621.jpg

The manual valve air lines need to cleaned up. This picture shows a little bit of a mess but I will clean it up on the final install.

http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/...412373A661.jpg

I'm going to put the compressor next to the tank, hopefully it's not to loud.

Please don't pay attention to the wires in the back ground of the pictures, I had it all bundled up nice but, had to take it appart to chasing down wires when the motor wouldn't start.

Have a good night. :chevy::chevy:

Looks good, I like the build.... the pump is probably going to be obnoxiously loud in there with you but to keep it out of the weather that's pretty much your only choice.

nice build man keep up it up

Thanks for looking at the build. I got the pump from the FedEx guy and it fit great behind the seat. May do a temp. install to see how loud it is going to be.
:metal:I will just have to put a big stereo system in it to cover the noise. :metal:

Thanks aagain for the look,
Robert:chevy:

Re: 1965 C-10 LS build

Was able to get a little bit of work done. I put a set of LED ghost lights in the rear roll pan for the reverse lights. Then got the roll pan mounted and a coat of filler on it. Also did a little more sanding and mudding on the tail gate. Other then a small repair on the drivers side cab corner and a little work on the rocker panel most of the filler work is done. After that a lot of blocking.
A couple of Pics.
