Wel you guy's are lucky to have son's interested, hoped for a least one boy, had twin girls and they don't really want to help in garage but still am fortunate that they have always been pround to tell the boys about their Dads big trucks and cool cars also. They also let them know pretty quick (posted online of course in todays world) how they drove standard in their Dads big truck and all the boy's were jealous, they think it is so funny. it is cool to have kids that do like our world and toys.

clemsonteg congrats on the new baby. Our son has been in to cars for many years he was 3 when i got my chevelle and he helped work on it, He also could tell you the different years of cameros and chevelles at that age. He has also been helping us work on our nova for the past few years,we are building a 383 for it now..
My oldest daughter has always been around old cars also, she has had 2-69 elcaminos and still has a 74 nova. my youngest daughter likes old cars but doesnt know what she wants yet... We are also teachin our grand daughter to like kool cars.

okay he got it all cleaned up (and it is painted now)and hope to change it out tomarrow if the weather holds up...Thanks again Buck

Now that kid has some elbow grease!!! It looks great and I hope it works as good as it looks, I am happy to have lent a hand. tell him to pay it forward when he can.

Yea he cleaned it with Castrol super clean, wire brush, time and elbow grease.. he said he has a popeye arm now..:waah:. He will pass it on he has seen us do the same for some time now....:metal:

I wish i could get my son interested, he just turned 14 and I was going to give him my 91 k5 and thought we could fix it up over the next 2 years.....But he said it was to big and he wanted a car instead. Someday he will come around.....I hope. But anyway the truck looks good tell your boy to keep up the good work.

Okay rain stoped and we got the steering box changed, replaced the rotted brake line,and wheel cylinders. Made a big difference and its alot safer now.:metal:

I just got engaged this past christmas, my soon to be wife has a 6 year old son, cant wait to start projects like this with him!

1badassblackss congrats on the engament, I,m sure your step son will find a project.. And it will be alot of fun and memorable for the both of you. This is Wyatt weldin in the stakebed holes the day after we had his scout troop come and weld up some of the small holes that where on the bed rail.(Guess the old owners needed about 100 extra holes on it??) they were working on a welding merit badge so he let them mig weld some of the holes on his truck.. After he welded the rest of the holes and the stakebed holes he then ground them down and sanded the top all down so we can fill the dents and low spots too make it all smooth and clean.. Thinkin we are going to try and tackel the rockers next? keep your fengers crossed..

From one Eagle scout to another, Nice job!! It looks as if its coming out great! It's so nice to see a father and son project on one of these old trucks!! It sounds like they boy has a promising future and a nice truck.

awesome. gave my son my '85 after he'd been drooling over it AND helping me get it nice...then I bought my '70. That one will be for a grand kid---one of these days!

Okay we been busy, we moved and havent done anything to the truck. We got all done with the move, we were sitting outside and he said dad can I weld up the pass door holes? before you go to cali..(going to work for a few weeks)

Our son has gotting a summer job and after he got his first good check he spent some moneys on his truck.... 1st pic is the before, 2nd after he welded the trim holes and the new tail and back up lenses, the las pic is those bright LEDs.... looking good son....

He also bought new mirrors. he took the old ones off welded up those big holes and know he has the peeps on....
