I was thinking about getting one of those Moser 7111 covers.

Will the factory straight bar work with the Moser 7111 cover if the truck is stock height or is the bent panhard bar needed even if the truck has not been lowered?

What is involved in the installation? Just unbolt the old one and bolt on the new one?

It’s a straight forward, albeit messy, swap out. I don’t think it would work with a stock panhard bar at all. It’s mighty “bulbous”.

Thanks nlped.

Is the installation of the panhard bar just a matter of unbolting the old factory bar and bolting on the new bent bar in the same place or is there more to it then that?

Sorta... the curved panhard bars I’ve used were longer and went from the o.e. d/s frame panhard mount to an included p/s trailing arm mount (with a spacer for the d/s trailing arm, so there’s no slight difference in height left to right). Really pretty simple to install, just a little time consuming. The longer bar also helps the suspension articulation ‘curve’....the rearend doesn’t move as much left to right in relation to the up/down movement of the suspension. If that makes sense.

Here’s a shot from one of my old trucks for reference

Any concern about having the bend in the bar? I was watching a video on YouTube and it mentioned that a bend will cause excess movement.

It's at around the 3:20 mark in this video: https://youtu.be/liR1--EHMg8

Unless you’re tracking the truck, I don’t foresee enough lateral force to distort the bar. Up & down articulation doesn’t put much force on the bar vs left/right forces.
